Task 2: Set Solar Meter on stand and place under light to adjust
height
P. 3Note: adjust solar meter position to maximum LED reading
First-Year Engineering Program
Rotate light over table
• Position solar meter under light to set height for sunny day or cloudy day binary values and then replace with solar cell.

Task 3 & 4 : Solar Cell – Concepts( incident light at an angle )
P. 5
The energy output of a solar cell is related to the angle of incident light by the following relationship: b = (L) * cosФ.
First-Year Engineering Program
Verify solar meter• Before beginning, verify
the solar meter circuit you will be using as follows:• Disconnect the end of the
lead connected to the output(V Out) of the light sensor board and plug it into the +5V row near the top of the board.
• Turn on the power and all LEDs should be on. If not, alert the instructional staff.
• When finished re-connect the lead to the light sensor board.
