OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
My Lord Jesus Christ, I want to honor your Name and your Memory that you may
always live in my heart and in my life.
I want to express what I tell the children that I prepare for the First Holy
Communion. God wanted to come from Heaven to earth and be born from a
mother chosen by Him: the Blessed Mother Mary full of grace and free from all
fault and sin.
He was born from the Virgin Mary with the grace and help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus
was born as a small tiny baby. Of course He was born without stain of sin. As Jesus
began to grow, He loved His Mother Mary and His foster father Joseph, Mary’s
husband. Jesus was obedient to them and a model for all children. Jesus by
obeying his parents was obeying his Father in Heaven whom they represented.
Jesus loved the children in His neighborhood and shared his toys with them. He
never fought with them. Jesus did not make any miracles as a child, but it was said
that He and some of his friends were playing with some clay and made doves out
of the clay. One of His companions said: “The doves are very beautiful but they
cannot fly.” And Jesus said “They can fly! And at His word the doves began to fly.
Jesus loves and has saved us through his sufferings and death on the Cross. Our
Redeemer gave His love for us all and no one can say:
Jesus does not love me!
We can all be assured of His love for us ALL!
Let us all turn to the Person that loves us most: Our Redeemer, we should call on
Him and tell Him our problems, sufferings, and all our needs.

THE PROMISE OF JUSTICE
We are in fairly good company when we ask God for
justice. Often enough we hear and agree with the lament
of the people of Israel asking God why the wicked prosper.
However, when we call out for justice, we usually want
someone to get his or her comeuppance. God’s justice is
something other than this, of course. God’s justice
comprises a wonderful rightness between God and
humankind.
Today, Jeremiah looks ahead to a time when a just one
will sprout from the shorn-off stump of Jesse of the house
and family of David. Life was not fair in Jeremiah’s time.
Israel’s kings held the promise of God’s fidelity, but it was
difficult to see how God’s promise could be realized
through them.
Nevertheless, Jeremiah lifts his voice and announces
that the Promised One will come. Luke’s Gospel echoes
that announcement, and Paul is filled with sturdy
encouragement. And so Advent begins with a promise.
