Learning to Learn(Single Subject Certificate)NFQ Level 6

Learning to Learn is an integral part of all of our academicprogrammes. It is designed to support students in theirtransition to becoming independent learners in highereducation. Firstly you will discover what your own personallearning style is – and develop note taking skills and studystrategies based on this. It will also help you plan and manageyour future studies.

COURSE CONTENT• What is Learning?• Study and Learning Skills• Communications• Team Work and Creativity• Academic Referencing• Learn Competent Writing Skills• Time Management Skills

This course will run for 9 weeks on Thursday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, commencing at 7.00pm on Thursday 19 September 2013.

Course Fee €90

Any student who attends and successfully completes Learningto Learn will be granted an exemption from Learning to Learnon their chosen course of study, and the fee of €90 will be deducted from the tuition fee due on their chosen course. (only where Learning to Learn is a module on their chosen course)

Become Assertive and Improve your Self-Esteem and ConfidenceThe aim of this course is to provide you with skills that willassist you to become more assertive in your daily life, includingconfidence development and building self-esteem. Thephilosophy of the course is that being assertive is just anattitude of mind with an accompanying set of beliefs aboutyourself and the world around you. This course is aboutacknowledging your abilities, accepting your potential andinforming you on how to realise such potential.

This course will also attempt to assist those who are seeking to move jobs to be more organised, planned and assertive, as they engage with the interview process.

COURSE CONTENT• What is being assertive?

• Learn to be assertive in a positive way

• Tools to recognise and build your-self esteem

• Positive thoughts to build your confidence

• How to approach and make decisions with confidence

• Know you strengths and start enjoying living your life and leading it!

• Managing change in your life? Do you need to make changes?

• Job preparation skills and career searching.

• Application preparation, tips on CV writing and interview skills.

This course would be very beneficial for those needing to buildconfidence and self-esteem as they seek to obtain new careersor further their existing careers. It will also assist those who areinterested in improving their lives in general to achieve success.

This course will run for 6 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, commencing at 7.00pm Tuesday 24 September 2013. The course fee is €90.
