God is always with me.God hears me and gives me what I need.God teaches me the way to go.God protects me.

Grades K-8thIn Acts 10, Peter was a Jewish follower ofJesus. Cornelius was a Roman commander. These two were unlikely friends even inthe best of circumstances. But through acouple of visions, these two men wereabout to cross paths. And through this meeting, Peter discoveredthe mission Jesus gave the disciples was way bigger than heoriginally thought.

Bottom Line: Keep going even when the job is bigger than youthink. There are times we start a job and soon realize that it will bea much larger endeavor. Our first instinct might be to give up alltogether, but we need to keep going. With the help of the HolySpirit, we can push through and show determination right up untilthe end.

Week 3 Bottom Line: Don’t let fearhold you back when God calls youforward.

Social media is great, but it has a way of making everyone else’slife look perfect. No one ever has a bad hair day, a boring Fridaynight, or a bad relationship on Instagram, right? No matter howgreat you have it, there’s something about social media thatcauses us to question ourselves. We see how great others seem tobe, and it leaves us wondering what weakness or flaw is limiting usfrom being just as great. It makes us insecure, and if we’re notcareful, that insecurity can end up holding us back more than werealize. Moses had the same experience. When God tasked himwith a huge responsibility, Moses didn’t think he had what it tookto get the job done. But as we watch how the story unfolds, we’lldiscover the way God goes with us and uses us despite ourperceived limitations.

NO Youth GroupWe will not be meeting this Sunday, May 14th. Please spend sometime with your family and don’t forget to celebrate your Moms onMother’s Day! See you on the 21st!

Tips For Spring Cleaning… I was recently drivingthrough the mountains of Pennsylvania with mydaughter, Mayim. In the course of our conversationwe were marveling how early settlers would traversethe mountains with their wagons. If you can imagineat the time heading west (when Ohio was the west)with all of the belongings you had carried with you from the ship you left Europeon. There were pianos, wardrobes, heirlooms, chests and anything that was ameaningful reminder of your former way of life. What is hard to fathom are the

times when they were forced to choose between forward movement by leavingthings behind or clinging to valuable things from your past and just settling there.Just as a thought experiment, what do you think you would have done underthose circumstances? Now consider if they let go of things along the way, whatwould that leave them when they arrived at their destination? Only what thatdestination had to offer. This included opportunity, the struggle to adopt a wholenew way of life and everything that came with it. In the end, it might have justbeen their destiny to let go so they could move on. Perhaps that was a necessarything at the time in order for them to become the new people that newcircumstances would require. Those who adapted eventually began to thrive, those who didn’t, didn’t make it. As harsh as it sounds, sometimes we have to letgo of things. If you are like me, there’s a lot to let go of! However, everything thatI’ve kept, I’ve had to move or manage or restore. Honestly, it’s a lot of work tomanage things you don’t use much anymore. After a while you tell yourself, “Whyam I keeping this?” “Someday” like the CCR song tells us, “never comes.” Whatare you still holding onto that’s preventing you from moving forward? What areyou keeping that is eating up time margins unnecessarily because you have tomanage it? What do you still have in your possession that it still waiting for the“someday that never comes?” My tip for spring cleaning is to get rid of it,especially if it is keeping you from moving forward. My recommendation, travellighter and trust the Lord will help you find what you need when you need it. Myexpectation is also that when you let go of something, something else will likelytry to take its place anyway…after all, nature does abhor a vacuum! My hope is,less can actually become more if things are done in the right spirit. Blessings,Leonard
