CRAFTS CODE is the acronym of:
CReative Actions For Tailoring Smes' COmpetitive DEvelopment

CRAFTS CODE aims to make craftSMEs more competitive.
Throughpolicy learning and capacity
building upgrade it will improve the delivery
of regional policies targeting thissector.
GOAL

Overall objective is to improve the SMEs competitiveness in crafts sector by developing
a framework stimulating policy learning and capacity
building activities with the contribution of all involved stakeholders and improving the
implementation of regional development policies and programmes, supporting
handicrafts SMEs in all stages of their lifecycle to develop and achieve growth and engage in
innovation.

The main criticality is represented by the difficulty of the craftsmen in interpreting the dynamics of the markets and adapting in terms of business models, as well as
access to finance.
Two main sub-objectives have been identified:
1) provide adequate and innovative instruments and increase the level of innovation of the crafts sector
2) impact on the political and strategic action specially conceived for supporting, protecting, enhancing and promoting the crafts sector as economic and social lever

The virtous mixture is made by: municipalities, national agencies for the development
of crafts sector, business support organizations as partners linked with local crafts ecosystem and 2
universities specialized in combining the traditional entrepreneurial spirit of their regions with international
innovative awareness, languages and culture.
This balanced miscellaneous grants the necessary expertises and methodology to face the
crafts sector's needs
