AW139 CABLE CUTTER SYSTEMSKEY FEATURES

The Cable Cutters system provides a means of protecting the helicopter during a wire strike by providing the capability to cut a cable or wire before catastrophic damage occurs. The kit is designed to reduce the possibility of a cable or wire entering the cockpit and to reduce the chance of flight control damage. Similar cable/wire cutting devices have proven to be effec-tive even during multiple wire strikes. The kit incorporates both an upper and lower cutter and each cutter is designed with high strength cutting blades. The Cable Cutter system design was tested to verify the capability to cut multiple cables with a combined tensile strength of 32,100 lbs. The AW139 kit also contains machined deflectors for the wiper posts and is available in 2 configurations, 1 with a short lower deflector, and 1 with a longer lower deflector that covers more frontal area against a cable strike. An optional GPS Antenna Mount Kit is also available, which allows the antenna to be placed on the upper cutter deflector for ideal positioning of the antenna.

The innovative DART Aerospace Vertical Capture Transport (VCT) System prevents injuries during long line operations by removing the need to have ground support personnel manually attach remote cargo hook to ground load. DART cargo lifting adaptor is secured to the ground cargo then, with the help of the conic locators, the pilot lowers the VCT remote hook onto the cargo adaptor. Once in contact with the adaptor the hook is mechanically engaged by a pushrod clamping the load without any effort on the ground. After transport, the load is released by the pilot using an electrical release device built into the remote hook. Jointly developed with Finmeccanica, the new AW139 Emergency Float System offers outstanding performance with a weight reduction of up to 88 lbs (40 kg) over other OEM float system options with sponson mounted liferafts. This system will be available for new aircraft delivery as well as a retrofit system for the existing fleet.

This innovative and patented Float System comes with or without integrated liferafts and consists of 4 emergency float pods. The liferafts are located in the Aft float pods and are able to be inflated even if the floats are not deployed. The floats are designed to be stable up to sea state level 6 and will be certified for ditching.

The pods contain a composite cover that is more resistant to wear than the fabric cover versions. These covers are flush to the fuselage with no bulging for improved aesthetics and reduced drag. The float system comes with only 1 inflation reservoir in order to reduce weight.

The two liferafts are integrated into the Aft floats pods, allowing them to be positioned in an ideal location for inflation. The liferafts can be mechanically activated via anyone of the 3 inflation levers (2 located in the cockpit and a 3rd one that can either be a cabin-mounted t-handle or external handles).

The AW139 Liferaft Kit consists of 2 externally mounted liferaft pod assem-blies (LH and RH), a liferaft inflation reservoir with a mechanical activation system, as well as all of the plumbing, pull cables, and hardware required for installation. The liferaft pod assemblies are comprised of an aluminum mounting structure, a fabric top cover, a composite bottom cover, a 10-man (15-man overload) or 12-man (17-man overload) reversible liferaft and an inte-grated composite passenger step. 1 liferaft reservoir assembly with hoses that lead to each chamber of the 2 liferafts is included. The liferafts are comprised of a twin tube design, a canopy, a survival kit and a fabric cover and meet all applicable TS0-C70a requirements. The AW139 Liferaft Kit offers 88.2 lbs weight savings when compared to competing products (73.2 lbs for the High Density 17-man overload configuration). This translates into increased payload for every single offshore mission. The kit is located closer to the belly and generates a lower drag moment on the airframe, which can have a positive effect on handling characteristics. The liferafts can be mechanically acti-vated via anyone of the 3 inflation levers (2 located in the cockpit and a 3rd one that can either be a cabin-mounted t-handle or external handles). The external handles are positioned on the belly to be more accessible in case the helicopter capsizes. A very competitive spare, exchange and overhaul program is offered.

This tool is necessary, at line maintenance level, to remove the M/R pitch link to satisfy scheduled maintenance requirements for play check (axial) of the upper and lower spherical bearings (off the aircraft). It must be used to rotate the M/R tension link to obtain enough clearance between the M/R lag damper attachment point and the M/R pitch change lever, in order to remove the attachment bolts on the upper side of the M/R pitch link. The best way to prevent damages to the main rotor is to get action against the droop stop plate.

OEM SUPPLY

Since 2013, DART Aerospace has decided to strengthen its partnership with the major helicopter OEMs and has initiated the co-development of missionized equipment for twin-engine and medium size helicopters.

While understanding the pros and cons of the two approaches DART now offers to the OEM the choice to certify co-developed systems either through the aircraft type certificate or through its traditional STC approach.

Whether DART is working with operators, completion centers or helicopter OEMs to develop new solutions, DART always aims to maintain the same reputation with its customers: a fast development turnaround time combined with its legendary responsiveness, constant flow of communication and key operators that ensures deep product knowledge.

SALES & DISTRIBUTION

DART Aerospace’s sales channels include a dedicated team of direct sales representatives and a network of local approved distributors.

The DART sales team has been evolving over the last year to better support our customer base. With our team of inside sales representatives, regional sales managers and account managers, DART better supports our most demanding customers based on their needs, growth potential and geographical location.

DART is continuously developing its network of local distributors to support the acquisition of foreign approvals for its STC products as well as to further expand its global presence. In Europe, we reinforced our presence with the addition of a Regional Sales Manager. Heliswiss Iberica appointed two sales managers fully dedicated to European market to better serve local customers. They will also be maintaining DART stocks in their warehouse in Barcelona and will offer on-site technical support to European customers.
