When using stains, paints and other finishes

• Wear eye protection.

• Wear old clothing or cover your clothes

• Wear a respirator when spraying finishes.

• Avoid breathing in toxic fumes

• Wash your hands after using finishing materials.

• Turn on the finishing room fan!!!

Finishing Room Safety

• Do all finishing in a separate, well-ventilated area.

• Keep the entire area free from spills.

• Never leave opened finishing materials unattended.

• Never use tools or machines that can cause sparks or start a fire in the finishing area.

• All oily rags should be disposed of in the red can.

Using and Storing Solvents

• Solvents emit dangerous fumes. Use only in a well ventilated area.

• Many solvents are extremely flammable. Keep all solvents away from sources of heat, sparks, and fire.

• Store solvents in appropriately marked containers.
