Manual for information on using "FORMAT" in the SET-UP menu to format a media.

o Note that formatting procedure will delete all data on the memory card, including protected files.Always copy any important files that you do not want to lose to your PC beforehand.

Firmware version checking procedure

Insert a blank formatted media in the camera. Turn on your "Camera" while holding down the[DISP/BACK] button. The number will displayed "CURRENT" showing the camera's currentfirmware version.

After checking the firmware version, press the [MENU/OK] button and then turn off your camera.

STEP1 Download the firmware onto your PC.

You can download the firmware using the "Downloading the firmware upgrade" link on.

Firmware upgrade

File name FPUPDATE.DAT

File size 70.0MB

Downloaded files must be put on desk top of your PC.If the file size does not match the figures given above, download the firmware update file again.

STEP2 Copy "FPUPDATE.DAT" to the memory card

1. 1.Insert a memory card formatted by the camera into your card reader.2. 2.Copy the "FPUPDATE.DAT" file downloaded in step 1) onto the root directory of the memorycard.

3. 3.Remove the memory card from the card reader and insert it into the camera.

STEP3 Update the firmware.Check the memory card containing the copied firmware update into the camera.Always use fully-charged battery when updating the firmware.

1.Turn the camera on while holding down the [DISP/BACK] button.

When this screen appears, press the [OK] button.

2.Press the [left button] to select "OK".

The firmware updating is started.

It takes approximatery 90 seconds for completing the firmware update.

5.When this screen appears, the firmware update has been successfully completed.

6.Turn the camera off

STEP4 Check the upgraded firmware.

By following the above procedure "Firmware version checking procedure", you can see thefirmware version.

Cf. The media used for the firmware update should be reformatted before you use it for takingpictures again.
