When writing an equation given two points, you first have to plug your points into the slope formula. ( )

After you get those numbers you have to plug them into the point slope formula

Now you have the form of y=mx+b, plug in your prediction for x and solve.

My first year was 1860 and I predicted what the

population was going to be in 2061. 2061 is 201 years

away from 1860, I plugged in 201 for x and found my

population for the year 2061.

When writing an equation, you first have to find the x and y values for the three points on your curve.

After you get the x and y values you have to plug each of them into the formula, Y=ax^2+bx+c

When you get your two equations, use the elimination method to solve for either a or b.

When you have the value for either a or b, plug it into the original equation and solve for the missing variable.

Then solve the equation for either variable (a or b).

Plug the value of the variable you solved for into the original equation and solve for the missing variable.

Now that you have all the numbers for the missing variables, solve the equation to find the prediction for the year 2016.
