Scotland and England had battles over land for hundreds of years. Many kings were executed and land was lost. The Hadrian’s Wall was said to be created as a line of defense by Emperor Hadrian.
William Wallace was the greatest fighter for the Scottish. He made his major defeat when he killed Sheriff of Lanark.He was alter knighted and appointed guardian of Scotland. He was later captured and executed.
The pope played a huge role in the knighting of people and Signing off
on treaties.
The battles between England and Scotland lasted until 1328. Before
that time there was a constant battle leading to thousands of
deaths and took place in well over 10 battles.
The book “Scotland’s First War of Independence” was written by Sarah Crome in 1999. The story covers the time period from when King Alexander III died to the uprising of William Wallace to Robert the Bruce. It tells the story of how Scotland fought to take their land back from England, it also portrays how they held there ground.
Scotland went through many deaths of great military leaders and even Kings but they never gave up the fight for their land and freedom. The reading was easy to follow and you can tell the in-depth research the author did to create it accurately. It makes you realize the struggle the Scottish people went through to gain the beautiful place they live today.
