1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the

patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. ~Romans 12:1-2

Message From Our Pastor  This has been an extraordinary season in the life of Morning Star. Not

only have we made major steps toward the fulfillment of our vision but

we have also begun to see the men have even greater impact in the life of

the church. The men of MSBC are not only participating in ministry but

they are leading ministries. Our Men’s Ministry is growing and it’s

because we have a group of brothers who are taking ownership to what

God has given to them.

As we consider the growth of the men of MSBC, I am excited to know

that they are the ones who are desiring to do more not only by suggestion,

but by craving. And so for this reason, I applaud the brothers who lead

our Men’s Ministries as well as those who participate in what is becoming

a ministry of major impact. On this day that we celebrate the men, they

have made it clear that honor is due. The choir stand is filled with men,

our male Ushers are escorting us into the temple of God and throughout

the sanctuary are men who are thirsty for the will of God. Men of MSBC,

I applaud you!

We welcome to our pulpit today, Pastor Darron McKinney, Bishop James

Nelson and Pastor Rod Hairston, 3 brothers who I know will rightly divide the word of God. I thank

them for taking leave of their pulpits to come and share with us today! Now let’s worship!!!

7:30AM REV. DR.

DARRON D. MCKINNEY, SR

(Macedonia Baptist Church)

Rev. Dr. Darron D. McKinney, Sr. serves as the 6th

Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church of Baltimore City. Prior to accepting the call to Macedonia Baptist Church of Baltimore City, he served as Assistant Pastor at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church-Westwood in Memphis, Tennessee, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James L. Netters. Rev. McKinney completed his undergraduate studies at Lane College in Jackson, TN. While at Lane College, he served as Vice- President for the Beta Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., June 2, 2012. Dr. McKinney Sr. received his Doctor of Ministry Degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio. Dr. McKinney’s emphasis, while at United, was Prophetic Preaching for the Black Church in the 21st Century. His Doctoral thesis is: A Call to Prophetic Preaching: Rediscovering the Role and Responsibility of the African American Preaching Tradition. On April 4, 2013 he was inducted into the prestigious Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College. He also serves as an Executive Board Member of the Hampton University Ministers Conference. He is a Chaplain for the Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments. He serves as a Principal for Community Churches for Community Development and Trinity Development Strategies. Among all the gifts and talents with which God has blessed Rev. Dr. McKinney Sr., none is more meaningful and fulfilling to him than Pastoral Ministry. He is very sensitive to the spiritual needs

of individuals, and therefore focuses his ministry primarily, but not exclusively, toward persons who are hurting—not only in the church, but throughout the community in which he serves. Rev. McKinney Sr. seeks to empower and uplift all humanity through the life-changing, uncompromising Word of God. Rev. Dr. Darron D. McKinney Sr. is married to the love of his life, Mrs. BillieJo McKinney and they have been blessed with three beautiful children, Diamond and Darron Jr. and Brayden.

9:30AM

BISHOP JAMES NELSON (Destiny Christian Church)

Reverend James Nelson, Jr. has the

spirit of David, “A man after God’s own heart”. His love and admiration for God is visible, through his preaching, his worship, and his praise. God has rested upon him the ability to take listeners with him through the scriptures, causing the Word of God to leap from the pages to minister healing, deliverance, and a convicting word that changes lives forever. God is using his ministry to change the lives of people around the world. Reverend Nelson has traveled extensively for over nineteen years, speaking in conferences and churches. He has been blessed to travel both nationally and internationally. Africa, Great Britain, West Indies and the Caribbean are just a few of the places God has opened doors for him to minister. Reverend Nelson successfully served five years as Pastor in Maryland, under the leadership of his father, Bishop James Nelson, Sr. founder and presiding Prelate of World Assemblies of Restoration. Under this leadership, he was International Youth Director and District Overseer

for multiple churches. Under God’s leading, Pastor Nelson founded and became Visionary of “The Refreshing Conference”. A conference to unify, strengthen and refresh the neighboring churches and Pastors of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This conference promoted healing, encouragement and the spirit of oneness to the Pastors, Pastors’ Wives and the surrounding Body of Christ. In 2004, Elder Nelson heard the voice of God and transitioned his family from Maryland to North Carolina to study and serve under the leadership of Bishop Joby and Pastor Sheryl Brady. There, he served as part of the Ministry Team at the River Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. This God ordained union provided healing, strength and motivation for Reverend Nelson and his family. Upon completion of his assignment at The River, God re-directed his footsteps and relocated Reverend Nelson and his family back to Maryland to go forward in God’s purpose and destiny. Reverend Nelson served as the Assistant Pastor of The Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, Maryland where Dr. Jamal Harrison-Bryant is the Senior Pastor. As God’s divine providence would have it that was not the final phase of ministry for him. Upon the closing moments of 2007, God began to speak to Pastor Nelson about birthing a ministry of his own. In April after faithfully serving and working to help facilitate others’ visions, Pastor Nelson successfully launched Destiny Christian Church. God has already shown Destiny Church great favor and has blessed them substantially. Reverend Nelson is married to the beautiful Wendy Renee. He is the proud father of three lovely children, James III, Jade Milan and Imani.
