2. The Viewing This is the viewing of the run, I had Gracia and Ashley, they met heage of the target audience we had and have personally reallywanted to see out opening sequence. They both seemed to enjoy it they were laughing and smiling atcertain bits that we had hoped them to when creating our comedy. I played the clip from the beginning and faced the camera towardsthem to that I could see their reactions and facial expressions tothe opening sequence. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms andconventions of real media products? The conventions of comedy tend to involve the sort ofstuff that would make a person laugh, this could involveslapstick comedy, silent films and others just throughthe use of music and sound effects. Our opening sequence uses these to add the comediceffect. The music is more dramatic than needed, wehave record stopping as one of the characters trip andpeople being thrown about by others. It is a regular occurrence in certain action movies forsomeone to rob a bank, yet through this we have addedour own comedic twist to it, we have challenged theidea of action films by adding comedy to make it seem alot less serious. We have challenged what you would initially see ofmiddle aged men robbing a bank and have replacedthem with teenage boys, despite this being the cause ofthe actors that we used to play them it showsuniqueness of people robbing a bank that you wouldntexpect to. By combining action and comedy we see avulnerable side to the boys, that you would see if theyhad done something wrong in another setting but herewe see it as they are in a rushed panic to get away fromthe police. Some things so serious as robbing a bank can be seen asquite a big and possibly not used factor in comedyfilms, so we have challenged this and applied therobbing of the bank to be the main element of this film. 4. How does your media product represent particular social groups? I asked Garcia and Ashleythe question of whatthey thought about wehave presented aparticular socialgroup, they looked atteenagers and how wehave stereotyped thembut in a different andunexpected way. Bymaking them rob andsteal it suits with thestereotype thatteenagers tend to behooligans and breakrules, which is what wehave used in our openingsequence. 5. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product andwhy? The sort of media institution that I would seedistribute my film would be SKY they work inproducing films that cover a range of differentgenres and seeing as our film combines the twogenres together it is perfect for the company.they show films in High definition which i believewill really capture the true style of ourfilm, showing everything in detail. Sky moviesalso works i showing films that have come out afew months ago in premieres, unlike otherchannel and institutions our film will be shown inthe same year its filmed instead of a few yearslater. 6. Who would be the audience for your media product? According to the questionnaire that I carriedout, the most people that viewed it wereteenagers between 11 and 20, which we see asbeing the most appropriate age for our film OnThe Run, It contains action, comedy andadventure which were shown as the mostpopular genres from my questionnaire. The age Ibelieve suits because the audience andcharacters are roughly the same age, so theyhave the ability to relate to the characters andthe sort of things they have to go through. 7. How did you attract/address your audience? I attracted my audience bymaking our film look and seeminteresting, making them wantto watch, who wouldnt wannasee how three teenage boysmanage to rob a bank? We included comedy which wasthe most popular genre in thequestionnaire and this wasbacked up in the viewing of itwhen the audience watchingwere laughing at the parts thatwe wanted them to. I asked Ashley and Gracia whatthey personally thought of theopening sequence and this is theresult they came out with. 8. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? The different technology that I used when creating On The Run helpedwith preparing and processing the production. I used these elements tocreate the Opening sequence: Final cut pro Vimeo Blogs Cameras Ipads 9. Final cut pro- Final cut pro was used to upload and edit outvide, through the use of different media, transitions andconversions, we were able to create our Opening sequence.I learnt from this that editing and creating a video take timeand effort and is a lot harder than i though it would be. itchallenged us to use new things and create a moreeffective piece. Vimeo- We used Vimeo to upload our cuts and final videoto, we were able to add descriptions, tags and any otherinformation about the videos, so that people knew aboutwhat they were watching. The video wouldnt upload toVimeo at some points because it wasnt in the right formatso we had to change it so that it would work. It was a usefulplace to store all of our cuts and it gave people theopportunity to view our work and we can view theres toand give feedback. 10. Blogs- by blogging we were able to keep up to date with all that washappening with our opening sequence. We could update them withanything new thats happened and areas that created our openingsequence and have it all in one place to access easily. It is useful keepingour work somewhere where it can be viewed, observed and checked andif anything is wrong or anything changes we have the ability to fix itquickly and effectively. Cameras- through the use of cameras we were able to take pictures andrecord our opening sequence. I learnt and figured out that it takes time toprepare the camera for filming and that there are loads of settings andprecautions that need to be taken in order to be ready to film. Ipads- We used Ipads to look at how we can do things on Final cut pro andhow we can edited certain areas that we wanted to edited. It was a usefulpiece of technology to use, because we didnt need to ask for help and wecould instead look at the area we wanted on the Ipad, watch a video thatcovers and know what to do with the ability to get that help over and overagain. Ipads are a useful piece of technology they are easily accessible andheld all the information that we needed. 11. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feelyou have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? When looking back at our preliminary task compared totask we have just created, you can see a big changebetween the two. For example we used two differentediting tools, we used IMovie for the preliminary task andfinal cut pro for the opening sequence. We faced morechallenges with the final task and we had higherexpectations for it, so we needed to make sure that itsuited the standards we needed with how it looked andhow made it look. I believe the difference has helped meprogress in a positive way, this opening sequence haschallenged my abilities in media and I have definitely learnta lot more from starting it and from this I know what I cando and what I can use for any future productions.
