  • Check-in procedures

    Athletes Lounge Bike check: handlebars & wheels (non authorized

    UCI wheels rule)

    Uniform check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers) photos taken of each uniform. Wearing other uniform during the race = DQF!

    Body marking check (both arms, both legs)

    Timing chip distribution Swim cap distribution

    Spare wheels will be collected for transportation to Wheel Station

    Transition Area

    Helmet check- Dont leave your helmet fastened in the transition (10 sec penalty in T1 for this)

    Traditional Bike racks

    Rack by the seat facing out in T1

    Rack by seat or by BOTH brake levers in T2

    Running Shoes beside your bike, helmet on the bike

    To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after

    the end of the Athletes Briefing.

    Athlete Introduction:

    10 minutes before start - line-up near beach

    Jog to the Start Line

    Select your position and stay behind the line!

    Athlete blocking more than one place will result

  • Start Procedure

    Athletes in position:

    The start can be given any time after the TDannounces On your mark

    Air horn blast

    The race starts

    Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive

    a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1.

  • False Start Procedures

    False start Example 1:

    Several horn blasts

    Kayaks in front of you

    Everyone goes back to her/his spot

    False start Example 2:

    If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who false

    started will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in

    TA1.

    During the time penalty athlete can not take any equipment!

    2.5 km out and across bridge

    Three laps of 5km

    2.5 km back across the bridge back to transition

    Distance to the first turn buoy 250m

    Course Direction is Anti-Clockwise keep swim buoys to your left

    Take cap, goggles to transition into your box

    Note the exit ramp is quite steep volunteers will assist you.

    Exit Denarau and across bridge, then 3 laps of 5km and then return to transition. Total Distance 20km

    Some technical turns in Denarau (road-abouts and the bridge). Also be aware of the speed bumps in

    Denarau. Flat and non technical once on main road.

    Team wheels only no neutral spares

    Located at Denarau-end turn around point

    Lap Counter also located at Denarau-end turn

    Lapped athletes will NOT be out of the race

    Lapped Athletes must drop back immediately

    No inter-gender drafting

    Marked with Cones and Arrows. Do not cut the course

    Congestion in finish area:

    The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike and TA2

    e.g.: Mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, discharge or store your equipment outside your designated area, rack the bike outside your own space etc

    (Transition will be videotaped for infringements)

    Location: 150m before the Finish

    Information: White board to show race numbers

    (Athletes need to read the board coaches are advised to check and inform their athletes)

    Procedure: 10 second time penalty

    If you dont stop DSQ

  • Run Penalty Box

    Rule interpretation

    Mount after the mount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot

    with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesnt occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line.

    Dismount before the dismount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete

    foot with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesnt occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line.

    Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area:

    Leaving the equipment s(swim cap, googles, helmet, etc.) in the

    designated box.

    Rack the bike inside your own space: In case of Traditional bike rack,

    the bike must be racked by both sidesof the handlebar or the seatpost

    with 0,5m to the name plate. Must rack by the seat facing out in T1.

    Athletes choice seat or BOTH brake levers in T2

  • Post-race Procedures

    Mixed Zone - immediately after finish 1, 2, 3

    Medal Presentation will follow as soon as possible following the finish of the race (Men

    and Women)

    Please follow the ambush marketing rules (if

    applicable)

    Dress up

    Prize money immediately after the race in the {insert location}

    Anti-Doping Control

    Photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control

    Medical

    Only team medical officials area allowed in this area in case there is an athlete from their team. Every NF can

    have 1 team medical upgade pass, but only for team

    doctors!
