Program Director Notes…. Hi All!
I am trying to help our friends at FiftyForward Madison Station!
FLIP (Friends Learning in Pairs) is seeking volunteers 55 and
older to tutor students in reading at these Donelson area schools:
McGavock, Pennington and Hickman elementary schools. Tutors
are also needed for Hermitage, Madison and East Nashville
elementary schools. Tutors spend two hours a week during
school hours tutoring at a school near their homes. Training,
materials and staff support are provided. If you are interested,
contact FLIP Coordinator Michele Clark at 860-7180 or
[email protected]. This is a great way to give back to the
children in our community.
Thanks and happy end of summer to all of you!!!!
Lisa Maddox
Center Director Notes...
I’m excited to announce that Donelson Station’s Advisory Council and staff have decided to move the Labor Day BBQ to October! The change comes after consideration of other competing activities going on Labor Day weekend, time constraints in adequately plan for a successful August event, and the hot August weather! We plan to incorporate many of the tried and true traditions of this 28-year event but also create some new exciting elements such as The Haunted Theatre!! In order to make
this an awesome event, we need lots of volunteers! Everything from serving food, to greeting guests and scaring those brave enough to search for the ghosts in the theatre! We will also be recruiting sponsors and silent auction items and will be selling Pigs (pink paper ones!) to offset costs! Please get involved!
Please welcome Kat Ford to the front office as Daniel Keeton takes a position as a probation officer! Congrats! Some of you may know Kat as she interned this summer with FiftyForward.
James Cunningham continues his recovery. If you’d like to provide him a meal or send him a card, talk to the staff.
As always, thanks to the staff and volunteers for all they do daily, and please let me know if you have ideas or need anything!
Sincerely, Angela Bryan

To All Donelson Station Members,
I would like to take a moment to tell each and every member here at FiftyForward Donelson Station that I will miss each of you tremendously. My experience during my short tenure at FiftyForward is one that offered many rewards and lessons that I will hold near to my heart forever more. Each person here has given me so much in friendship and love, and I only hope that you all felt the love and friendship in return.
The FiftyForward Staff and volunteers work hard to make this center a great place for all to enjoy and with their devoted dedication to our community, FiftyForward will only get better as time moves on. As a member of the Donelson community, I am sure our paths will cross at some point and when they do, we will continue to make more memories to be cherished for years to come. Take care and God bless each one of you.
Thank You,
Daniel Keeton
