Please support History in the Making as t h e Fifth Ward Mosque is the First and ONLY Islamic Center to be built in the 5th Ward , one of the most historical & impoverished areas of Houston, Texas

Fifth Ward Mosque (dba Masjid AlRasul No. 2) has a 30+ year history with the opening of the First Masjid AlRasul in Watts, Los Angeles, CA, in 1980, one of the most crime ridden, poverty stricken communities of America.

Fifth Ward Mosque have been working in the Fifth Ward community since February 2011, with the commencement of its Community Share

AMeal program that provided weekly cooked meals for the local African American community.

To date, the Fifth Ward Mosque has raised $343,600 for this historic Masjid construction. Our $50K MOSQUE OPENING FUNDRAISING

INITIATIVE needs your support to open the Fifth Ward Mosque for business.

With your support in raising $50,000 , we can open the Main Prayer Hall, temporary Women/Childrens Area, Restrooms, and obtain the required permits & insurance needed to occupy the Masjid and begin serving the local community.

MISSION & GOALS

Masjid AlRasul of Houston, TX Under Construction

MISSION

To establish Islamic programs & services that facilitate the spiritual awakening of the Fifth Ward Community & society at large.

To give dawah and spread the message of the Quran and the Holy Prophet (SAW) throughout the impoverished community.

To establish community service initiatives that help to uplift the poor and oppressed people of the Fifth Ward community .

GOALS

To work diligently and tirelessly in pursuit of Allahs good favor and divine mercy through the establishment of regular prayers & Islamic programs in the Masjid;

To become an integral part of the local community by providing social services and developing a strong and unbreakable bond of respect, trust, and collaboration between the Masjid & the local community; and

To promote Islamic awareness in the local communities & society at large through Dawah and sharing the teachings of the Holy Prophet (SAW).

OBJECTIVES

In addition to conducting regular Islamic programs, Fifth Ward Mosques objectives include the following:

To establish programs and community service initiatives that include:

food banks/pantries, community health & after school programs, Sunday school, tutoring, mentoring & job training programs for both the Muslim & local community;

To collaborate with local neighborhood leaders in community revitalization initiatives; such as: community based cleanup projects

and business enterprises;

To guide and uplift youth through educational, vocational and recreational programs and activities that help to provide a brighter vision and future for youth;

To develop initiatives that help to reduce poverty and crime, and support the overall development of the local community; and

To collaborate with other Islamic Centers, faith based organizations and NGOs to achieve these objectives.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the direction, maintenance and security of the Masjid and its assets; and is comprised of:

The Board of Directors is responsible for executive planning and managing the daily operations of the Masjid.

Fifth Ward Mosque is a 501(c)3 tax exempt, non profit organization; therefore, all donations are tax deductible.
