WORLD DAY OF SICK HEALING MASS
Jesus in the Gospels: Why the Search for the Historical Jesus Makes No Sense for Catholics (and other Christians) Presented by Deacon Charles Bobertz, Ph.D.
Sometimes it seems that every month there is a new book on Jesus in Barnes and Noble. In fact the search for the historical Jesus amongst scholars has been going on for over 150 years with little agreement to show for the ef-fort. This theology day presentation will explore the history of the search for the elusive Jesus of history followed by a provocative suggestion: the search for the historical Jesus makes no sense for Catholics. Instead we should focus on the Jesus presented to us in the Gospels, that is, the real Jesus.
Friday, February 9th 8:30am - 1:00pm (includes lunch) Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 11300 N. 64th Street, Scottsdale *No fee. To register, call 320-363-3560 or visit www.collegevilleMN.com/theologyday.

As Fr. Thomas has mentioned previously, we have a greatly expanded Pastoral Council. Our purpose is to take the pulse of the community and bring up ideas to help Fr. Thomas advance the parish in the area of pastoral growth. This includes developing and maintaining a parish pastoral plan to enhance our prayer, stewardship, evangelization, and religious education - with input from you. We now have nine members supporting Fr. Thomas. We will do our best to reach out to you, but don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to any one of us. We will be happy to bring your comments, questions and concerns to our monthly meeting. We would also like to thank Greg Biltz, who has moved, for ten years of outstanding service on the parish Stewardship Council. Picture below from left to right are Wendy Rakes, Greg Ternes, Alicia Aber, Phil Ondrei, Bonnie Tyminski, Judy Colburn, Karen Pitico, Bob Kenkel, Fr. Thomas, Julie Watson. Not shown is Jeff Wincel.
