From Celtic to Calypso, Southern to Salsa, Old England to New England, Motown to Cape Town, plus a liberal dose of American Rock ‘n’ Roll, the Groovemongers’ memorable tunes and driving rhythms fuse into a spicy mix that is irresistibly danceable. Rebecca McKallum - fiddle, Jane Knoeck - keyboard and accordion, Tom Santarsiero - mandolin and guitar, Ralph Gordon - bass, and Mark “Pokey” Hellenberg - percussion. African, Caribbean, Funk, Reggae, and Latin grooves meet traditional fiddle music with The Gaslight Tinkers. It’s the genre-bending future of the music of the past. Audrey Knuth - fiddle, Peter Siegel- guitar, Garrett Sawyer-bass, and Joe Fitzpatrick- percussion with special guest Chris Miller (from Great Bear) on saxophone.Steve Zakon-Anderson is a popular New England based caller who has been calling great dances and telling bad jokes for more than 20 years. Dana Parkinson is known for her calm, welcoming manner, clear, efficient walkthroughs and friendly style.Rushfest: Extremely popular in the southeast, Emily Rush brings her brand of DJ driven contra dance with every type of music from pop, rock “n” roll, tango, oldies, jazz and much more.

LOCATION: Fiddling Frog is held at the fabulous Pasadena Masonic Temple. The Temple has a huge, beautiful wooden dance floor, a separate dining room, and lots of places to hang out and chat (or jam) with friends. You can make requests and offers of room shares on the Fiddling Frog face book page.FOOD: A wide variety of healthy and hearty refreshments will be provided throughout the daytime and evening dances. Those with special dietary needs may wish to supplement their snacks. There are many options for meals near by. REGISTRATION & CANCELLATIONS: Registration begins 10/13/17 and is expected to sell out. The general registration fee is $165.00. If you are under 30 you can register for $85 in exchange for a youth work scholarship. Late registration (after January 1, 2018) is $175. Registration is not transferable. All cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee. If you cancel after January 14, 2018 refunds will be at the discretion of CDC (e.g., a dancer is admitted from the waiting list). ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS AFTER FEBRUARY 16, 2018. The weekend runs from Friday evening through Sunday evening. There is a Sunday evening public dance from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm at the same location included with your festival weekend registration. This public dance is open to non-Fiddling Frog participants for $18 at the door.
