1947 Joseph J. Jacobs went into business as Jacobs Engineering Co., operating asboth an engineering consultant and a manufacturers' representative for processequipment.

1956 With 20 people on staff, we completed our first substantial chemical project:engineering of a caustic chlorine plant for Kaiser Aluminum in Louisiana.

1960 Awarded our first design-construct project: a potash flotation plant for SouthwestPotash Co. By project's end, our staff had expanded to 150 people.

1963 Southwest Potash Co. received the American Institute of Chemical Engineers'Kirkpatrick Merit Award for their Vicksburg plant's potassium nitrate process

technology, which we helped develop.1964 Began feasibility studies on our largest project to date: the $500 million Dead Sea

Project for Arab Potash Company in Jordan.

1966 Designed our first diatomaceous earth (DE) facility. Went on to design virtually allthe DE plants built in the United States over the next decade.

1967 Began work with U.S. Borax at its plant in Boron, California, the world's largestborax-producing facility. This launched our long-term relationship with U.S.Borax, providing design-construct services at its facility.

1967 Now over 300 employees strong, we opened our first satellite office in NewJersey to establish proximity to a client.

1970 Became a publicly owned company and saw our stock listed on the AmericanStock Exchange in 1971.

1974 Opened our Dublin, Ireland office as a project office.

1974 Expanded our geographic coverage to the Gulf Coast with our entry into thehydrocarbons market.

1974 Started our first major chemical project abroad: E&C management of a $25million pharmaceutical plant for Syntex in Ireland.

1976 Began an EPC project to expand Pennwalt Corp.'s alkyl mercaptans facility,increasing world production by 50 percent.

1978 Completed a decade in which we designed/constructed more than one-third ofthe uranium projects in the United States. Jacobs now had over 1,600employees.

1982 Began our first major program for the federal government: a contract to help theU.S. Department of Energy (DOE) remediate 24 low-level radioactive sites in 10states, at a cost of nearly $1 billion.

1986 Awarded our first biotechnology research and production facility assignment byGenetics Institute.

1995 Broadened our international network to include offices in France, Spain, and Italy.1996 Completed services for Advanced Micro Devices' fast-track Fab 25 project in

Austin, Texas. One of the most advanced wafer fabs and the largest cleanroomproduction facility in the world, Semiconductor Internationalmagazine named this"Fab of the Year."

1996 Listed in Fortune Magazine's "Top 1,000 Companies." Ranked the third largestconstruction design-build firm by Engineering News-Recordmagazine.

1997 Expanded our presence in Mexico. Our staff (including affiliates) numbered over15,000 people.

1997 Awarded engineering and technical services by Oswal Chemicals and Fertilizersfor three 2,000-metric-ton-per-day (MTPD) Diammonium Phosphate/NPK Plantsand a 2,650 MTPD Phosphoric Acid Plant--the world's largest--in Paradeep,India.

1998 Increased ownership in our Mumbai, India subsidiary to 70 percent.

1998 Beaumont Services Company, LLC (BSC) and William Beaumont Hospital winthe Infoserver's Editor's Choice Award for Most Visionary Relationship. BSC is alimited liability company composed of the hospital, Jacobs, and PriceWaterhouse.

1999 Increased our service capability to a wide range of clients, with expanded

1999 Jacobs merges with the Sverdrup Corporation ("Sverdrup"). Sverdrup providesengineering, architecture, construction and scientific services for the

development, design, construction and operation of buildings, infrastructureprojects and advanced technical systems for public and private sector clients inthe U.S. and internationally. It also added civil and defense capabilities to theCompany's range of professional services. Sverdrup employes more than 5,600people in offices located throughout the United States, and in selected countriesabroad.

1999 Fortune Magazine named us Most Admired E&C Company.

1999 Expanded our presence in Greater Europe and the Middle East as part of ourmulti-domestic global strategy.

2000 Began managing Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Proving Ground wind tunnelsand cold rooms-the first-ever stand-alone asset management contract in theautomotive industry. This contract resulted in operational responsibility for all ofFord's North American wind tunnels.

2000 Began program and construction management under a joint venture for the Cityof Detroit's Wastewater Treatment Rehabilitation Project, one of the largest such

facilities in the world.2001 Gained presence in Canada and strengthened our upstream oil and gas

capabilities.

2003 Once again named Fortune Magazine's Most Admired E&C Company.

2004 Expanded our global presence in the infrastructure market by acquiring BabtieGroup Ltd. and enhanced our refinery capabilities by acquiring a portion ofFortum's Neste Engineering Oy.

2004 Acquired Leigh Fisher Associates, a leading international airport consulting firm

based near San Francisco, California. In addition to enhancing Jacobscapabilities in the airport and aviation sector, the acquisition provided synergieswith the companys transport consultancy capabilities in road, rail, shipping, andairline operations.

2004 Jacobs Board elected Noel Watson as Chairman of the Board.

2007 Jacobs Consultancy acquired John F. Brown Company. Founded in 1973, JFB is

a nationally recognized airport management consulting firm specializing infinancial planning and business advisory services for clients in the United States.

2007 Jacobs acquired Carter & Burgess. Carter & Burgess is a nationally recognizedengineering, design, planning, and construction management firm serving publicand private clients in the fields of transportation, planning/environmental,communications technology, buildings/facilities, and land development.

2008 Neste Jacobs Oy of Kilpilahti, Finland, in which Jacobs holds a 40 percentinterest, acquired Rintekno, a local engineering company based in Espoo,Findland. The acquisition makes Neste Jacobs a leading provider of engineeringservices for the chemical and biotechnology industries in the Nordic region.

2008 Jacobs acquired 60 percent ownership position in Zamel & Turbag ConsultingEngineers (ZATE). The Saudi Arabian firm has been renamed as Jacobs, Zameland Turbag Consulting Engineers (Jacobs ZATE). The combination of ZATE withJacobs' existing operations in Saudi Arabia results in more than 500 staffproviding engineering and construction management services.

2008 Jacobs acquired L.E.S. Engineering Limited (LES), a national maintenance,construction and service works contractor specializing in mechanical,instrumentation, and electrical installations for the process and utility industries inthe United Kingdom.

2009 Jacobs purchased a one-third share in AWE Management Limited (AWEML)from British Nuclear Fuels Limited (BNFL). Founded in 2000, AWEML is a jointventure between Jacobs, Lockheed Martin and Serco to manage the AtomicWeapons Establishment on behalf of the U.K. Ministry of Defence.

2009 Jacobs acquired TYBRIN Corporation (TYBRIN), a leading supplier of missionplanning solutions, systems engineering, software development, modeling andcombat environment simulation, engineering and testing, range safety, and otherservices to the United States Department of Defense (DoD), NASA, and othergovernment clients.

2010 Jacobs acquires TechTeam Government Solutions, Inc. (TechTeam), formerly awholly-owned subsidiary of TechTeam Global, Inc. TechTeam is an information

The firm's core competencies include systems integration,enterprise application integration, ERP implementation support, IT infrastructuresupport, network operations management, and call center operations.

2010 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recognizes Jacobs forexcellence in worker safety and health by approving the corporation as aVoluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Corporate participant. At the time of therecognition, OSHA has only awarded the status to seven other corporations inthe United States. The VPP Corporate program recognizes corporations whichdemonstrate a strong commitment to worker safety and health, and which

participate in VPP at a site level.

2010 Jacobs acquires Sula Systems Ltd (Sula), a professional services firmheadquartered in Gloucestershire, England. Sula provides systems engineeringand technical services to clients in the United Kingdom's defense and aerospacemarket, specializing in areas such as armored vehicles, complex weapons, testand evaluation, and submarine nuclear propulsion. Sula also provides servicesrelating to civil airliners and space-based subsystems.

2010 Jacobs acquires Magellan Consulting, Inc., a specialty consulting firmheadquartered in Conroe, Texas specializing in facility assessment and planning.Founded in 1996, the firm is a known brand in facility assessment services,especially K-12 educational capital project planning.

2011 Jacobs acquires Damon S. Williams Associates, L.L.C. (DSWA), a 50-personprofessional services firm headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 1987,the firm specializes in water and wastewater facilities, with expertise in planning,design, construction administration and operations services.

2011 Jacobs acquires Aker Solutions' Process and Construction (P&C) business whichconsists of approx. 4500 employees and significantly expands Jacobs' globalpresence in the mining and metals market; provides a new geographic regionwith South America; and strengthens Jacobs' presence in China. The P&C

operations also specializes in refining, oil & gas, chemicals, and energy markets.
