Diplômée d’ENSCI-Les Ateliers, Amandine Chhor a travaillé cinq ans pour des agences de design et pour Hermès en tant que concepteur et chef de projet.En 2013, elle a fondé à Paris un studio de design avec Aissa Logerot, avec pour objectif de créer des objets qui ont une histoire à raconter et à culti-ver un équilibre parfait entre la fonction, la forme et les techniques de production. Passionné pour les matériaux, l’artisanat et les procédés de fabri-cation industrielle, le duo dessine des produits et des meubles qui valorisent l’utilité et la rigueur de la simplicité.

« M’intéressant aux passerelles existantes entre l ’industr ie et l ’ar tisanat, j ’envisage le design comme le moyen de créer des l iens entre savoir- faire et de m’immerger dans des contextes dif férents. Le dessin évolue au contact de la matière et de la technique, sa transformation relate l ’histoire d’un dialogue entre le designer et l ’éditeur. L’objet qui en résulte est le fruit d’une rencontre par ticu-lière. » AMANDINE CHHOR

« Interested in the exist ing br idges between industr y and ar t isanal work, I envisage design as a way to create l inks between ‟savoir- fai re” and to immerse mysel f in di f ferent contex ts. The design evolves in contact wi th the mate-r ia l and the technique. I ts transformation tel ls the story of the exchange between the desi -gner and the edi tor. LOOP…

Loop est née d’une réf lexion menée par Amandine Chhor sur les contraintes indus-tr ielles du f i l d’acier soudé. Elle aboutit à une série d’étagères murales. Le f i l d’acier soudé lui confère une impression de légèreté et assure une grande solidité.Avec son galbe remarquable, ces étagères se déclinent en trois modèles et trois coloris.

VU PAR SON DESIGNER :« LOOP est le résultat d’une recherche réa-lisée dans une usine spécialisée dans le f i l d’acier soudé, sur la façon de générer de nou-velles courbes organiques en optimisant les contraintes de la production industr ielle de chariots de stockage. » AMANDINE CHHOR

While contemplating the industrial constraints of working with soldered steel wire, Amandine Chhor created LOOP, a series of wall shelves. The soldered steel wire conveys a sense of weightlessness, while at the same time, gua-rantees great robustness.These exceptionally curvy shelves come in three models and three colours.

ACCORDING TO ITS DESIGNER:“LOOP is the result of a research process, conducted in a factory specialized in soldered steel wire, on how to generate new organic curves by optimizing the constraints of the industr ial production of storage trolleys.“ AMANDINE CHHOR
