NOTE 1Depicted on this plan are the species and the approximate location of street trees. Once driveways, utilities and light standardshave been installed, the exact location of street trees will be staked on site by the landscape Architect and approved by the Townprior toplanting.

NOTE 2Minimum clearances for Street Trees (when trees are planted 1.5 m from the curb): 2.0 m from water hydrants; 2.0 m from driveways; 2.0 m from neighbourhood mailboxes; 3.0 m from hydro transformers; 5.0 m from street light poles; 15.0 m minimum from street line (street intersection as measured from back of curb) and behind the daylight triangle as per theGeometric Design Standards for Ontario Highways;

NOTE 1Depicted on this plan are the species and the approximatelocation of street trees. Once driveways, utilities and lightstandards have been installed, the exact location of street treeswill be staked on site by the landscape Architect and approvedby the Town prior toplanting.

NOTE 2Minimum clearances for Street Trees (when trees are planted1.5 m from the curb): 2.0 m from water hydrants; 2.0 m from driveways; 2.0 m from neighbourhood mailboxes; 3.0 m from hydro transformers; 5.0 m from street light poles; 15.0 m minimum from street line (street intersection asmeasured from back of curb) and behind the daylight triangleas per the Geometric Design Standards for Ontario Highways;

18.0 m from face of all warning signs.

When the minimum distances noted above are not achievable,street trees may be planted in an alternate location, 0.5 m fromthe property line (0.8 m behind the sidewalk) and adjacent toany fences. In cul·de-sac locations the street tree may beplanted just inside theprivate property line. If a tree is planted in an alternate location,the distances marked with an asterisk must still be maintained.

SPECIFICATIONS:

CONCRETE & FOUNDATION:1. Concrete to have minimum compressive strength of :

· Foundation - 32Mpa, exposure class 'F'· Exposed concrete - 32 Mpa, Exposed class 'C2' and to be 5% to 7% air entrained

2. Concrete to be ready -mix material supplied and placed in accordance with CAN CSA - A23.1 - M94and CAN CSA - A5/A8/A362-93

3. Formwork to be supplied and erected in accordance with CSA - S269.34. Reinforcing steel : Use deformed bars with yield strength of 400MPa conforming to CSA G30.1

FOUNDATIONS:1. Construct footings for walls and columns in undisturbed native ground or well compacted fill with

footing extending into undisturbed ground minimum 300mm2. Obtain professional Soil Engineer's approval of soil condition before pouring footings3. Report any poor ground conditions to Consultant prior to pouring concrete4. Required soil bearing capacity 120kpa(2500psf)5. Remove all topsoil and lose material from excavation

MASONRY:1. Construct masonry in conformance with CSA standard CAN 3-A371.042. Place back-up masonry in running bond pattern3. All bed joints to be weathered and all head joints to be flush4. Use Type 'S' mortar with a minimum average compressive stregth of 12.4 Mpa5. Use concrete block with a min. average compressive strength of 8.3 Mpa conforming to CSA

standard CAN3-A371 and CAN CSA - A465-046. Ultimate compressive strength of masonry materials shall be in excess of:

a) Hollow concrete block 6.9 Mpab) Solid concrete block 12.4 Mpa

7. All available bearing areas of masonry units shall be covered with mortar spread in even layers andall vertical joints should be filled solidly with mortar

8. Grout for columns and walls shall conform to CSA standard A-179.04. Do not use mortar as grout9. Minimum compressive strength of:

a) Concrete 32 Mpa @ 28 daysb) Grout 20 Mpa @ 28 days

10. Galvanized Metal brick ties / ladders to be supplied and installed in accordance with CAN CSA -A-370.04

CONCRETE:1. Proportion concrete to comply with CSA standard CAN3-A23.1-M77, Class C exposure2. Concrete strength at 32 Mpa @ 28 days3. Use type 10normal Portland cement4. Maximum aggregate size 20mm5. Air entrainment 5% -7%6. Slump 25mm to 75mm7. Supply, place and cure concrete in compliance with CSA standard CAN3-A23.1-M77

REINFORCING STEEL:1. Use deformed steel, billet bars conforming to CSA standard G30.18, grade 4002. Concrete cover to outside of rebar: 75mm3. Foundation walls: 100mm underside and side of footings
