F025A Microscopy Cross Section Kit

F102/A Lint and Trash Analyzer MK2

Contains all the equipment and consumables used in making fiber and yarn cross sections by the plate and modified cork methods recommended by AATCC.

Lint and Trash Analyzer MK2 (Cotton Model). To determine lint, trash and dust content within a sample of cotton fiber up to 100 grams. Also used to determine non-fiber content of synthetic fibers and to open and clean fibers for further testing. The analyzer uses the carding principle with air separation of lint and non-lint content.

Lint and Trash Analyzer MK2 (Wool Model). To determine vegetable and other foreign matter content in raw wool. Wool tops and waste and preparation of samples for fineness testing. Also suitable for determining the yield of high value fibers such as cashmere and angora, as well as determining non-fiber content of long staple synthetic fibers.

To produce fiber cross sections of microscopic examination, measurement and identification.

To determine the tensile strength of natural fibers. Includes 1 pair of clamps and spacer, torque vice and wrench, cutter, comb and tweezers. A 5 mg x 0.01 mg capacity balance is required but not included.

Hand operated, to determine the linear density (count) of slivers and rovings. Fitted with roving bobbin stand, digital counter and precision cutter. Specify 1 meter or 1 yard circumference.

To determine the oil or finish content of wool or syn-thetic samples by solvent percolation and evaporation. Suitable for fiber, yarn or fabric. Available with 1, 2 or 3 extraction units. To be fully compliant with Edana method ERT 155, it needs a large extraction tube- 12 mm (OD), 10 mm (ID). (Full title of new method is: DETERMINATION OF ACETONE EXTRACTABLE FINISH ON NONWOVENS).

To determine the moisture content and regain percent-age of textile materials. Drying is performed by circu-lation of warm air electrically heated, regulated by an electronic temperature controller (range 0°/180°C, ac-curacy ±1°C). The material to be tested is dried within a metal container suspended from an electronic balance. Two successive weights of the same value determine the point at which moisture content can be calculated. Includes an electronic balance with 2100 g capacity and 0.01 g accuracy. The sample is weighed automatically by means of a basket connected to the balance.
