December 31st will mark exactly one year since Steven and I met at the Arts Factory for the first time. A month later, we conspired to publish a fashion magazine, and we are

proud to have accomplished this in the form of 8 issues and a highly-trafficked website. Looking back on this first year is a truly a reward in itself. We have learned a tremen-

dous amount in a very short time, and have forged new relationships with people we re-spect both artistically and personally.

For those who believed in us from the beginning, and those that hopped on our space-ship later on, we want to say thank you from the depths of our hearts. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to move this project ahead, and trust us, we are ready to kick things up

a notch.

Starting with our new space. As of January 1st, we will be officially moving into the Stitch Factory, so please come visit us there are one of their awesome events, their spot-

on-what-you-need classes, or just to shop and say hi.

We are taking the month of January off to work on our shit, so look out in early Febru-ary for our #febissuefflv. Lastly, here’s to you, and here’s to 2015, a year that will be the

farthest thing ever from boring.

“We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful

stuff out.”- Ray Bradbury

HEALTH

to birth a new trend to the always hungry public? Ladies and gen-tlemen, I bring you Health Goth.

According to the original found-ers Jeremy Scott (not the de-signer), Chris Cantino, and Mike Grabarek, it merely started as a Facebook page for the three to share cultivated internet photos and music they were interested in, all of which had a common trend of BDSM(kinky stuff), tactical weaponry, and motocross body armor. When the three were in-terviewed for Vice Magazine they collectively had this statement to properly define the escalating new trend: “At its most basic, Health Goth is a collection of styles and mindsets that already exist - like street goth, various internet stuff, and clothing fetish videos - that we’ve brought together on Face-book. It’s also obviously influ-enced by sports advertisements and the rendered environments they create”. (Vice Magazine)

Though the three have been deemed as the original creators of Health Goth, there is an-other, Jonny Deathface, who has taken it upon himself to create “HealthGoth.com, which in-cluded the creation of the “Ten Commandments of Health Goth”

It has been obvious that there has been an underlying goth influence among some of the top names in fashion, like Rick Owens or Skingraft. The goth style incorporates a darker palette of formfitting, sexy and edgy flare to an otherwise bland wardrobe. It is understood that designers thrive to create bold, attention-seeking clothing. Standing out from the rest ensures notability, which creates inter-est and later demand. Attention means money, shocker. So what happens when someone decides

and selling associated merchandise. In the simplest of terms, the essence of this appar-ent imposter website is to only promote being a gym rat, and buying his shirts.

When thinking of this newly introduced fad, channel your inner athlete, strictly black and white, Adidas, Nike, Alexander Wang x H&M Collection...constructed and tight fitting. Basically like any Tumblr famous grunge queen in her lazy day outfit (#IWoke-UpLikeThis). So whether you are feeling the Health Goth thing or not, at the very least

we have a new excuse to buy cute new workout clothes.*

ShapeUpIt might not be beach body season, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to go into sloth-mode all winter! And with the holidays fast ap-proaching, we have some great ways to stay in shape Vegas-style.

LIFESTYLE

FFLV 20

1. Hit the trails in Red Rock.

Put on leg-warmers(we won’t judge you) and a few jackets and hit the trails at Red Rock. Icebox Canyon is one of my favor-ites, with its steep climbs and winding paths.

2. Take a barre class at Barre3

Barre3 is one the top barre studios in Vegas. What is barre? A combination of pilates, yoga, and ballet. This is a great workout it you want to get lean and toned.

3. Make some time for yoga at Barefoot Sanctuary

Barefoot Sanctuary, taught mostly by its founders Jada and Alvin, is an amaz-ing place to get back to what yoga is all about. Oh, and did I mention it’s located upstairs in Whole Foods Market in Town Square? That sure makes it easy to grab dinner afterwards!

4. Stop by Core Studios for a pilates class

Core Studios aims to achieve three guide-lines- burn, sweat, and tone. They have a great introductory special of three classes for $33!
