Harness Assist

The Harness Assist is specifically designed to minimise the effects of suspension trauma. In the event of a fall an adjustable twin foot loop is deployed allowing the user to stand and transfer their weight directly to the anchor point greatly relieving pressure from the harness – one of the major contributing factors to suspension trauma symptoms. The Harness Assist is available in varying options allowing versatility for various users and scenarios. All options are lightweight at approximately 150 g.

Option 1 Harness Upgrade Code “HS-HA”

This option can be retrofitted to any harness and is manually deployed after a fall. It attaches to the rear free fall arrest attachment point of any existing harness and can be purchased separately and retrofitted in the field. It is neatly packaged and concealed within a small, unobtrusive pack which is fitted to the harness close to the user’s chest ready for quick deployment.

Option 2 Harness Integrated Code “HS-FHHA”

This option is integrated into the harness during production and is generally made to order. It is manually deployed ensuring immediate access to the adjustable foot loops. This complete system is designed for providing safety when ascending or descending ladders. A worker attaches their body harness to the cable via a cable adjuster with shock absorbing lanyard (HS-CS1000 sold separately). They can then move freely up and down the ladder system with both hands free.

The system is mounted as a permanent fixture with the use of a top mounted bracket with energy absorber and bottom mounted bracket with a cable tension system. The ladder system is also supplied with flexible 8 mm steel cable. The ladder system is supplied ready for installation and is supplied with instructions.

Cable guide to reduce lateral movement (supplied on systems 15 m or longer)

Cable Adjuster for Ladder System Code HS-CS1000

The HS-CS1000 is the recommended adjuster for the above ladder system. It comes complete with built-in energy absorber, two steel screw gate karabiners and stainless steel cable adjuster. The adjuster can be removed from the cable allowing use on other ladder systems but remains locked when the karabiner is in place. Sold separately to ladder system.

Hi-Safe Ladder Lock Code HS-LLO (parapet), HS-LLO G (gutter)

Hi-Safe Ladder Locks are available for either guttered roofs or parapet building structures. They can be securely fastened and are an ideal alternative to permanent ladder systems. A 1 metre handrail provides stability when transitioning from ladder to roof which is the most critical point in portable ladder egress and regress. Complies with relevant Australian Standards and guidelines.

The Ferno Arachnipod is the world’s most versatile modular total edge management system (TEMS). Components can be added or removed as required so that the Arachnipod complements existing structural or natural features. The unique design of the patent-pending modular head means the Arachnipod can be constructed into many different configurations including a ginpole/monopole, bipod, tripod, quadpod, bridge system and handrail recovery monopole.

For heavy loads, four legs can used to form a quadpod and increase the safe working load (SWL). Its versatility makes it an ideal system for workers in industries such as rescue and emergency services, construction, military, utility services, mining, film and maintenance.

The Arachnipod, in its most basic form, is a simple tripod with the three legs independently pivoting from an anodised aluminium head. The modular head has a similar design to a door hinge. Inserting or removing a pin through the centre of the head allows the quick and simple addition or removal of components to create a configuration to suit any edge management scenario. Each head section contains a shackle for guying while an optional in-built twin grooved stainless steel pulley is also available.

Ferno FDU Code FWE-FDU 100 (with friction rack) FWE-FDU 200 (without friction rack)

The new Ferno FDU is designed for personal rescue, emergency escape, rescue operations or specialised rope work. It is a friction control, double stop, descending system, with a simple and soft moulded, operator handle. The system starts releasing its load when the handle is moved towards the central position. Should a panic grab take place and the handle is pulled past the central position, the system locks up into the double stop mode.

This mode will only be maintained with the force exerted by the operator, until a gentle release takes place. If the handle is let go, the system automatically locks. For rescue loads (2 persons) the Ferno FDU is available with an additional friction rack. The Ferno FDU has been extensively tested with Donaghys 11 mm Rescue Response Static Rope and Donaghys 11 mm Response XT Rope and when used with either of these ropes will conform to AS/NZS 4488.1:1997.
