sAfeGUArDINGFerneham Hall takes the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults very seriously. We are encompassed by Fareham borough Council's Safeguarding Policy and guidance to ensure that all of our visitors receive the best possible experience when visiting Ferneham Hall.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding, please be aware that children and young people (under the

age of 16 years old) are not permitted to attend public events at Ferneham Hall, as a lone’ member of the audience, without a responsible adult (someone aged 18 years and over) or parent/carer who is attending with them.

The only exceptions are ‘SNAP’ events for young people between 11 and 16 years old, where activities are co-ordinated by Fareham Borough Council. These are supported with appropriately checked staff and volunteers, who are on hand to supervise.

Please be aware that in circumstances where Ferneham Hall is hired for an event which may involve children and young people; whether as guests or as performers, responsibility lies with the Hirer to manage their own safeguarding arrangements. For this reason, parents need to ensure that they are comfortable with measures the Hirer has put in place for any activity. Evidence of these arrangements will also be required from the Hirer; please be prepared to provide a copy of these at the time of booking.

On behalf of all the staff at Ferneham Hall a warm welcome to your 2015 What’s On guide.

Following a very successful 2014, I would like to congratulate all the winners and runners up in the 2014 News Guide Awards and the 2014 Daily Echo Curtain Call Awards (see page 35). All appeared on stage at Ferneham Hall during 2014, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish them all continued success this year. If you did not manage to see one of their productions last year I would strongly recommend to see at least one of their productions in 2015.

After the success and popularity of our last Pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I am very pleased to announce our Family Pantomime this

year will be Dick Whittington and his cat produced once again, by popular demand, by Jordan Productions. Cast will include everyone’s favourite Todd Carty – yes he of Grange Hill, EastEnders, The Bill and Skating on Ice fame, along with Disney Art Attack’s Lloyd Warbey, who will be returning to Ferneham Hall in July with some popular art and drama workshops (following his sell out workshops earlier this year) before a return to our stage for his second pantomime with us.

Dance at Ferneham Hall has always been popular, and 2015 even more so with our annual Fareham Stage Dance Festival in April, winner of 2014 Strictly Come Dancing Pasha Kovalev with his special guest Anya Garnis and the All England Dance Festival both here in May, along with troupes of talented local dance schools (see our website for dates and dance schools appearing throughout the year).

For our younger audiences we have even more reasons for you to come to Ferneham Hall this year, with How The Koala Learnt to Hug in April, Sing-a-long-a-Frozen in May, Ministry of Science Live on our stage in June, followed by Lloyd Warbey’s Workshops in July, with The Chris and Pui Show in September then Basil Brush in October.

If humour is your preference then look out for our Laughter Live - Comedy Club, supported by our sponsors Carling on Friday 5 June and later, on 9 October. This has proved to be a popular addition to our programme with a line-up of 3 comedians to entertain you, ably supported by our resident 2014 News Guide Award Comedian and compere James Alderson.

Finally, please make a note in your diaries for Sunday 27th September when our doors will be open for Ferneham Hall’s fun-packed and entertaining Open Day.

Thank you for your continued support and please keep emailing us, tweeting, Facebooking, phoning, writing or even calling in and letting us know what you think about the continued changes we are making, and what you would like to see at your Ferneham Hall in the future.

Rod Cameron General Manager and all the staff at Ferneham Hall
