WHO WE ARE

QUALITY

Our main goal, as a manufacturer, is to provide you with a quality product. Packaging is a major contributing factor to that goal. We start by factory packaging our product with skids custom built for each specific application. For fenders, we separate rows with cardboard, place a wood framing across the top, steel band the skid multiple times and finish off with layers of shrink wrap. Some products, such as aluminum fenders, require additional protection to which we add extra friction preventing guards to the major contact points. Labels are applied to aid in safe handling, product identification, and contains manufacturing quality control information. Custom packaging, to better fit your requirements, is available upon request.

In 1967 Rockwell American was founded in a small garage located in Rhome, Texas. Starting as a one man operation, specializing in manufacturing fenders for the trailer industry, the business expanded in the 1970’s to include parts distribution and a warehouse facility in Azle, Texas. Today, we manufacture over 1.5 million units each year of 1,000+ different fenders and other related trailer body components. Our manufacturing facilities are continuously being modernized and now encompass over 50,000 square feet that run multiple shifts of personnel when supply and demand requires increased production.

The ability to supply products that fit your particular needs and requirements has played a major role in making us the full line supplier that we are today. Filling those needs includes providing flexibility in the design of our fenders. Shown here are some of our most requested options.

Even the most up to date manufacturing processes will not make a great fender without using the quality materials. That’s why we have formed partnerships with world class suppliers to deliver materials that surpass our exacting specifications. All of our raw materials meet and exceed “ASTM” standards. Custom

aluminum alloys, with a protective PVC film, have been developed specifically for our roll forming processes. Quality control programs have been put into place to ensure that nothing but exceptional surface conditions exist through the manufacturing process.

Our national stocking program ensures that there is an on-hand supply of the most popular fenders, available for immediate distribution from our manufacturing facility. Many factors affect a fender order’s lead-time. Seasonality, order volumes, and stocking levels are but a few of the opportunities leading up to the shipping of a particular order. We, at Rockwell American, strive to anticipate increases in manufacturing volumes and are constantly analyzing processes and staffing, to improve availability to the product that best fits your needs. Unfortunately, sometimes unforeseen issues such as equipment downtime, logistics scheduling and material availability can extend an order’s lead time. Your help in forecasting and adjusting your product ordering practices to coincide with your current volume requirements will help ensure timeliness of your orders.

Our manufacturing facilities are located in Azle, TX., Plant City, FL., and Angola, IN. Most products are delivered direct to our branch locations, via our own fleet, to effectively reduce damage due to shipping and handling.

Reduced road spray with these easily mounted extensions. Featuring a built-in curvature for a smooth fit every time. Type A is a wide heavy duty style and type B is a standard duty designed for blind mounting. Stocked and sold in a 50’ Coil.

RUBBER FENDER EXTENSIONS

INJECTION MOLDED FENDERS

Made from high-density polyethylene, these fenders resist damage from impact, and corrosion. Designed for marine application, they feature “scratch proof” molded in colors, a 300 lb capacity step area on the top, an inside skirt, and 4” mounting slot. Style B features an additional stepping area on the front and back. Custom colors are available by special order.

Only by eliminating rivets, screws, and welding, and by attaching stiffeners to panels using 3M™ VHB™ Tape, can your trailers truly become seamless. Further, every hole drilled into a trailer for a screw or rivet provides a leak potential. 3M™ VHB™ tape eliminates the holes - and therefore the problem - while creating a moisture seal. The gray, closed cell, acrylic, conformable foam carrier of VHB™ Foam Tapes helps provide higher strength, is cushioning, damping, and impact resistant. Available in boxed rolls and is lined with a 5 mil clear poly-ethylene film. VHB™ tape must be applied with a specialized laminate roller, providing a min 15 lb’s of pressure, such as part # 43174.

Designed by a leading heavy equipment trailer manufacturer, the “T-RAIL Flooring System” is an innovative method of mounting. Designed to reduce overall weight and labor, when com-pared to the normal installation requirements. The concept features Rumber boards with 1/4” T-RAIL which is welded to 24” spaced cross members. You can form your own cost effective T-RAIL’s by welding 1.5” x 1.5” x .25”, angle iron welded back to back.
