One or two leaves that open either inward or outward. Inward is the most common because it is

ideal for houses that face directly on the street or when the sidewalk is very narrow. But many

modern houses only have a short driveway and there may not be room to swing the gates past a

parked car. Outward is a good solution if your driveway runs uphill but you need to be sure that the

open gates do not encroach on public land or pose a safety hazard.

The best choice if you have a small site. It will be particularly suitable in the case of sloping ground

or if you have little space between the house and the gate. These gates are more complicated to

install because they require the installation of a straight track on the ground from fully open to fully

closed. They also require more maintenance to keep the track clear of stones and leaves.

The premium solution. The track is part of the gate frame and the wheels are bolted to the concrete

to the side of the opening. The advantage is that you don’t require any track to be bolted down.

Paved or even gravel driveways are no problem with cantilever and they are very low maintenance

if installed correctly. The downside is that the gate needs to be longer and therefore needs more

space to the side of the opening.

T H E F I N N S

The Finns series balance a modern architectural look with

airflow and privacy. The evenly spaced vertical pickets

provide a clever masking effect for approaching traffic

from either end of the fence line while allowing visibility

from the inside out. Durable corrosion resistant aluminium
