Director's Message

Prof. Hitesh V. Bhatt

Director | IRMA

Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) was established in 1979 by the Father of the White

Revolution, Dr. Verghese Kurien with the vision of creating top-quality rural management

professionals through the Institute's flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management

(PGDRM). Over the last 40 years, IRMA has served as a one-of-a-kind knowledge institution

committed to creating specialized management professionals.

Over the years, the need for scholars with specialized knowledge in rural management was acutely

felt and as a result, IRMA introduced the Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM) in 2002.

FPRM is a unique doctoral-level programme with a strong emphasis on coursework as well as

research and fieldwork components. IRMA supports its scholars by ensuring that an environment

conducive to learning as well as research opportunities is present throughout.

This commitment to excellence has resulted in 31 scholars graduating as Fellows from IRMA, placed

in leading universities and reputed managements schools across the country. Their contribution to

the field of rural management through lauded publications and research makes IRMA proud and

reaffirms the Institute's commitment to knowledge conception and dissemination.

I invite you to be a part of this unique programme that is aimed at knowledge creation through the best

practices in academia with an Institute that is dedicated to using said knowledge for the benefit of the

rural populace of India.

There is no better place for you to be at than IRMA.
