*Extra homework time will be given as needed, please make arrangements with the Site Supervisor.
If you would like to withdraw from the REC Program, you may do so by submitting a withdrawal form to [email protected] or drop off at Manhattan Beach City Hall by the 15th of the month to cancel for the following month.
Any withdrawal requests received after the deadline may be charged the full amount for the upcoming month.

If you do not have a need for the extended care program, the REC Park Pass is for you! Register for the REC Park Pass, drop off your child at the REC Program and still benefit from all the same activities, camps, and fun!
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The REC Program is a user-pay program open to children ages 6 to 12 or children in grades 1-5. The REC Program offers: homework time, arts and crafts, music, dance parties, movies, fitness fun, snacks, gardening, cooking, sports, tournaments, themed activities, monthly late-night REC events, and much more! REC Program ratio: 1 leader per 10 children.
Children will be participating in self-directed and organized recreational activities designed to positively impact social connections, human development, and lifelong learning. All activities are supervised by trained CPR certified recreation leaders.
The REC Program offers after school pick up from four local elementary schools: Meadows Elementary, Pennekamp Elementary, Pacific Elementary, and Grand View Elementary. REC Program staff will meet the children at each school and walk them to their home park.
• If enrolled in Afterschool REC for the month of May 2020, children will receive Afterschool REC services free of charge June 1-5, 2020.
• All day REC Drop off for most MBUSD holidays for enrolled months, (7:15am to 6pm) Manhattan Heights Park only, LOP is closed.
• REC Camps during enrolled months, (7:15am to 6pm). Manhattan Heights Park only, LOP is closed. Excludes REC Summer Camp.
• Late Night REC, (3rd Friday of the month, September - May from 6pm to 9pm) 30 children max, please register at the park the week of.

The Innovation “Hour” Program is a 60 minute workshop created to offer more enriching projects, in comparison to the regularly scheduled recreation arts and crafts projects.
Though both types of arts programs can provide positive experiences, the City of Manhattan Beach is committed to exploring any and all programs which can consistently enhance the quality of life and expand each child’s arts learning opportunities. Projects include drawing, painting, paper mache, ceramics and more.
The Innovation “Hour” Program will take place once a week, at each Afterschool REC Program site. This activity will need an additional registration.

REC Camp (7:15am - 6pm) for vacation camps (Fall, Winter, Ski Week and Spring). If your child is registered during a month that includes a camp, he or she will be automatically enrolled at no extra charge. These camps are located at MHP only, LOP will be closed.The Afterschool REC Program and REC Camp are closed on Labor Day (September 2, 2019), Thanksgiving (November 28 & 29, 2019), Christmas Day (December 25, 2019), New Year's Day (January 1, 2020) and Memorial Day (May 25, 2020).
