SUNDAY WORSHIP ● 8:00

Prelude Youth Orchestra To God Be the Glory Arr. Stan Pethel

Welcome

Hymn #142 All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name! CORONATION

Prayer of Adoration

Worship Song See page 6 for music Above All LeBlanc and Baloche

Above all powers, above all kings, Above all nature and all created things, Above all wisdom and all the ways of man, You were here before the world began. Above all kingdoms, above all thrones, Above all wonders the world has ever known, Above all wealth and treasures of the earth, There’s no way to measure what You’re worth. Crucified, laid behind the stone, You lived to die, rejected and alone. Like a rose trampled on the ground, You took the fall and thought of me Above all. (repeat)

Crucified, laid behind the stone, you lived to die, rejected and alone. Like a rose trampled on the ground, You took the fall and thought of me Above all. Like a rose trampled on the ground, You took the fall and thought of me Above all.

Prayer of Confession Lancelot Andrewes, 1555-1626

Forgive me my sins, O Lord; forgive me the sins of my youth and the sins of my age, the sins of my soul and the sins of my body, my secret and my whispering sins, my presumptuous and my crying sins, the sins that I have done to please myself, and the sins I have done to please others. Forgive me the sins which I know, and those sins which I know not; forgive them, O Lord, forgive them all of thy great goodness. In Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Everything Must Change! Brian McLaren

On March 7 and 8, Christian author and pastor, Brian McLaren, will appear at VPC as part of an interactive, interdenominational,

national speaking tour supporting his new book,

Everything Must Change: Jesus, Global Crises, and a Revolution of Hope.

The book addresses two questions:

What are our world’s top global crises? What does the message of Jesus say to those crises?

The format of this 24-hour “participatory experience,” which begins at 6:00 pm on March 7, will

include new music, guided reflection, and dialogue and conversation groups about faith, art, justice, mission, spiritual formation, worship and community.

The registration fee, normally $99, is available for $79 to the VPC community

through March 7. For information and to register, visit www.deepshift.org.

Please help!

We need 50-60 people with servant hearts to support this exciting two-day event. Volunteers can help with registration, greeting, parking, hospitality,

food preparation, room set-up, clean-up, and more. We will joyfully work with your available time and talents.

Please contact Ginni Richards, 703.938.9050, ext. 123 or [email protected].
