Message from the President
Hello CAHRA,
I am thrilled to announce that we have already had approximately thirty new mem‐bers join CAHRA in 2016 and had record a endance at our January mee ng! These are exci ng mes! So I have one ques on for you... are you “Engaging”?
At our February mee ng, we will intro‐duce our Commi ee Chairs and give you an opportunity to sign up to learn more about each commi ee’s role. This will help you de‐termine if there is an area where you feel called to serve.
If you have an open HR posi on in your company or a non‐HR posi on that is profes‐sional level, we will give you an opportunity to announce it at the beginning of each mee ng. If you are seeking an HR posi on or know someone who is, please feel free to leave resume copies at the sign‐in table for other mem‐bers to review.

The Wednesday February 3rd CAHRA meeting will be held at the Hilton Hotel located on County Line Road, Jackson, MS. This
meeting will be held in the Penthouse. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and our speaker will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Topic: “The Top 10 Mistakes Every Employer is Making.”
Bio:
Wendy King is the regional Director of Health & Performance for HUB Interna onal, Gulf South. In her role, she sets the pace for client strategy including wellness vendor partnerships, healthy culture devel‐opment, industry leading program design, and compliance. She manages a team of cer fied health and performance consultants who partner with clients to execute ac onable strategies within their organiza‐ons, achieving par cipa on and risk reduc on in their popula ons that far exceed industry benchmarks.
Ms. King has over 20 years’ diverse, professional experience in corporate wellness strategy, marke ng, sales and communica ons. Her background includes owning her own marke ng and consul ng firm, run‐ning the corporate marke ng and wellness divisions of a na onal health and benefits administrator, and running the business development divisions of both hospitals and healthcare consultants.
Wendy has provided key note addresses to groups such as the Society for Human Resource Manage‐ment , and wri en ar cles and provided interviews to numerous US insurance, corporate wellness, bene‐fits, and human resources publica ons. Ms. King is considered a leader in the field of corporate wellness strategy, as it relates to employee benefits and enterprise risk management.
Wendy holds a Master’s degree in Business Administra on (MBA) from the University of New Orleans, along with a Bachelor of Science in Marke ng from Louisiana State University. She is also a Cer fied Cor‐porate Wellness Specialist (CCWS).

Nametags:
If you have recently completed your SHRM-CP
or SHRM-SCP certification or pathway and need
a new CAHRA nametag with your credentials,
please complete this request at the next CAHRA
meeting via the sign up sheet at registration.
There will be no charge for those who have up-
dated credentials. We will continue to charge a
$15 fee for members who need nametags not
related to changing credentials.

next meeting if you are interested in signing up to help
with one of our committees. Opportunities are available
for those of you seeking a volunteer role!
