February 2012 Updates: Hahgoots News: Artistic Studies Slide 2 I enrolled Hahgoot to Art Box, the after school workshop for 5-9 year` old kids (each Wednesday), and also to the Sunday Kids Art Club (once a month) at the Penrith Regional Gallery, which is actually 10 minutes walk from our house in Emu Plains (and opposite the Nepean river). While the workshop is on, I entertain Alma outside (see next slide). Left: typical Aussie caravans, parking in front yards of houses around Emu Plains. Slide 3 Slide 4 Various streets around our house (the lawns are always so tidy, but not in an eerie way...) Slide 5 Some of the artworks on display at the gallery that month: from the exhibition Hello Dollies (left) and a house for two artists (Images from the internet) Alma was terrified of the dolls exhibition, not surprising after you see the image on the bottom left, which was a huge blow up balloon. Slide 6 Hahgoot attended a Kids club art workshop with Emma, the neighbours daughter (above) and really enjoyed the activity (right). They made collage works following an artwork from the Hello Dollies exhibition. Its really nice she can see the actual artworks and work in a well equipped workshop, only 10 minutes walk from home! Slide 7 Another time we waited for Hahgoot while she was in art class and it rained. Then we discovered some of the artworks outdoors come to life when it rains, as the water pours from the roof through the works and create lovely ponds and rivers in the lush gardens. Fabulous! Slide 8 Alma enjoyed both the drawing and the puddles! As you can see, it wasnt cold, just wet. Slide 9 Some of the collage works Hahgoot made following artworks at the Penrith Regional Gallery. Slide 10 Some of Hahgoots free drawings (some are stories with several chapters) Slide 11 Some more drama from Hahgoots creative imagination... Slide 12 Hahgoot chose excerpts from books she likes and drew new illustrations (her idea) Slide 13 Top left: a lovely Garfield comics book, from our friend Inbal Right: Grandparents Simon sent a special package, that blew up into a cow seat! Alma loves rolling on it... Slide 14 In our next presentation: Update on some sensory development!
