2010 COUNTY FASHION REVUE MOVES TO SVF!

Monterey County 4-H Fashion Revue has been moved to the Spring to allow winners the opportunity to participate in the State Fashion Revue held each year at the end of May. Hopefully moving the County Fashion Revue to the SVF will create more participation from 4-H'ers. It will be held Sunday, May 16th at 11:00 am. Members DO NOT have to be in a sewing or fashion revue project to enter. Any 4-H boy or girl can sew, recycle or purchase an outfi t to participate. Yes, there are boys at State Fashion Revue! Although only one winner from each category and age group will qualify to rep-resent Monterey County at the State Fashion Revue, any participant that has an outfi t worthy of a gold medal will receive a medal at County Fashion Revue. Visit www.ca4h.org/projresource/fashion for more information on categories and age group breakdowns. Cloverbuds are welcome to participate but cannot receive a medal or advance to the State Fashion Revue because of their age. Applications will be available closer to May. Kudos to Mrs. Margaret Noroian and Nativi-dad 4-H for organizing the County Fashion Revue! If you have any questions please contact them.

FROM YOUR PROGRAM REP.Wendy Grennan

At the recent Bow-A-Rama, 25 participants fi lled out a survey for a drawing to win a candy fi lled stuffed animal box. Nearly all the surveys showed that the member was interested in an Emerald Star Project. Here are a few ideas for an Em-erald Star Project, either as an individual or with a group.

Help at Sectional Presentation Day• – We don’t have an All Star this year, or a club on the committee, so help is needed with set up, refreshments and announcing the winners. Or a group could be all of the room monitors.Organize 25 new camp craft kits for this year• – This project was done last year, but a new group could do it for this year.Help develop a Monterey County 4-H calendar• – Hold a photo contest, select winners and publish a 4-H photogra-phy calendar to use as a fundraiser and promotional piece.Organize a 4-H Day Camp/Camp Reunion• – Open to the public and members who haven’t been to camp to check it out, while campers have the opportunity to get together for a reunion.Take your project group to one of our Military 4-H’s • – Share your project information and do a demonstration.Help with a Treasurer’s or Secretary’s training• – At a Training Day

If you are interested, have your own idea or have any questions please call Wendy at 759-7386.
