Our President’s Message

NARI of Central Ohio

Vision Statement To be the primary resource for the Remodeling Industry and its consumers. Mission Statement To develop the premiere organization with integrity, that advances remodeling professional’s knowledge through education and industry involvement and serves as a trusted resource for consumers. Our Values Integrity. Family. Honesty. Respect. Education.

Fellow Members, The first month of the year is now quickly behind us, and we give thanks to As-pen Fireplace and Patio for hosting our first general meeting. Many attendees shared their outlook on the economy and the benefit of coming together as an association in difficult economic times. I was pleased to see so many attend the meeting and share words of encouragement with their peers as they focus on growth opportunities that lie in our paths ahead. As many of you have heard me share before, the best way to maximize your in-vestment in NARI is to get involved. NARI leadership works hard to create new opportunities for our members by increasing our presence in the public eye, co-ordinating educational venues, planning networking activities and special events such as trade shows and home tours. Attendance at general meetings is an im-portant way of making new business contacts that can help your business grow directly and indirectly. Educational round tables offer a variety of topics for attendees to openly discuss with an expert on the subject. The setting is intimate and gives you the best opportunity to have your company’s questions an-swered. The NARI brand also endorses your company as a leader in the indus-try. It informs consumers that you comply with a set of service standards that exceeds those of many contractors and vendors in our marketplace. Become a leader in our industry by getting involved in a committee and consider what you can offer as a future board member. The Home and Garden Show planning committee has been hard at work finaliz-ing this year’s trade show. There are just a few spots left, so don’t miss out on this excellent opportunity to get in front of your prospects. As we advance into this new year, I ask that you view NARI as a partner to your business and as a sounding board to your thoughts. I welcome any feedback from you that will help strengthen our association. Best Regards, Bryce Jacob, Dave Fox Remodeling President, NARI of Central Ohio 614-459-7211 [email protected]

2009 ACE Award Logo & Survey Available

ACE = Achievements in Consumer Excellence.

It’s not too early! Start sending ACE Surveys to your clients now!

A minimum of 5 surveys with a 3.5 average are needed to qualify for the ACE Award. Consumer referrals are probably the strongest form of leads for remodeling contractors. Having a good track record with the consumer builds confidence in your business. 56 companies received recognition for their achievements in 2008. Let’s see if we can double that number in 2009. Survey forms are available at www.trustnari.org or contact the NARI Office at 614-895-3080.

A WIDER COMMUNICATION NETWORK = BETTER OPPORTUNITIES

In order to better serve members and ease the responsibilities of com-pany representatives for distributing information, NARI of Central Ohio would like to expand its communication database to include all associ-ates/employees of member companies. Whether it is information about a general meeting, roundtable, up-coming classes or seminars, or a fun activity, we would like to help representatives spread the word to all persons who might be interested. To assist us in this effort, please have the company representatives or interested associates send their e-mail address (or other preferred method of communication) to [email protected] or contact the NARI staff at 614-895-3080.

Remodelers Journal Going Digital

NARI National’s Remodelers Journal has printed their last edi-tion. To receive the publication digitally, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line:” DIGITAL RJ. Digital is-sue will always be available in the archive on NARI.org, under Remodelers Journal.

Where Do Consumers See NARI Members

Consumers see our members in Housetrends, Home Front, Pa-perGold, the NARI tabloid in the Dispatch, on radio and TV. We’re working to brand the NARI name and all this publicity helps our members be recognized as the trusted professionals they are.

Comparison Shopping?

A recent NARI National survey determined there is little compari-son shopping when hiring a re-modeler; 57% of respondents considered 1 or 2 remodelers, 36% considered only 1 and 28% con-sidered 3. Only 15% of people considered more than 3.

USE It and Help to Promote Your Association

If you don’t use the NARI logo to promote your business as a member of NARI, the trusted professionals in remodeling, then you are letting your potential customers go to other companies that may not be NARI members. If consumers aren’t educated about the difference, then how will they know? So if you don’t use the NARI logo, you could easily lose business! Please, also USE the NARI logo in all your print ads, visibility helps in the education process. Years ago, who had heard of the Better Homes & Garden Seal of Approval.? We can do the same for NARI with your help.
