2. Even Numbers = The Natural Numbers which are divisible by 2 are called as Even Numbers. For Example = 2, 4, 6, 8……….

3. Odd Numbers = The Natural Numbers which are not divisible by 2 are called as Odd Numbers. For Example = 1, 3, 5, 7, 9………

4. Prime Numbers = The Natural Numbers greater than 1 which are not divisible by any number except 1 and itself are called Prime Numbers.

For Example = 2, 3, 5, 7……..

1. Successor of a number = It is a number just after the given number. To get the successor of a number we add 1 to it.For Example = Successor of 89 is 90.

2. Predecessor of a number = It is a number just before the given number. To get the predecessor of a number we subtract 1 from it. For Example = Predecessor of 100 is 99

Percentage

A fraction with its denominator as 100 is called as Percent.

Rules: -

1. To convert a ratio into percent, we write it as a fraction and multiply it by 100.For Example – 1:2 -> 1/2 -> 1/2 *100

2. To convert a decimal fraction into a percent , we shift the decimal point two places to the right.For Example - 1.2 ->

3. To convert a percentage into fraction, we drop the percent (%) sign and multiply the remaining number with 1/100.

For Example - q

Cost Price (CP): - It is the price at which it is bought.Selling Price (SP): - It is the amount received by selling the article.

Profit: - If the selling price of an article is greater than the cost price, then there is a net gain or profit.

Gain = SP – CPGain % = (Gain / CP) * 100SP = (100 + Gain %)/100 * CPCP = (100 / 100 +Gain %) * SP

Loss: - If the selling price is less than the cost price than there is a net loss.
