The Singapore Police Force (SPF) Band brings pomp and splendour to The Blue Charity Gala held in aid of SPD, a charity serving people with disabilities, and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF).
The Gala will bring together 600 guests for a night of enthralling music by the esteemed Singapore Police Force Band. With a shared vision to build a more inclusive Singapore society, the funds raised
will support SPD in helping people with disabilities maximise their potential, and help BT BAF reach out to underserved children to develop their interests in the arts.

In the last 5 years
With the bursary from SPD, I have purchased books and materials that
were needed to help me in my studies without worrying about where to get
the money for these expenses. We work to ensure that every child and youth with special needs is able to receive timely intervention,
appropriate educational opportunities, and the motivation to pursue their dreams and make a
positive impact on society.

Empowering young lives
We match people with disabilities to jobs and provide training to improve their employability.
Many are still looking for an opportunity to move up the economic ladder. You can transform lives by
making a donation or offering job opportunities and training to persons with disabilities.

I enjoy coming to SPD every day and working with my friends at the workshop. We also get to visit interesting places in
Singapore and attend events by sponsors. The monthly allowance I receive for my work at the workshop has helped my
mother and I with our household expenses.- Mr Lee Boon Kian,
SPD Sheltered Workshop trainee.
I’m motivated to return to work and grateful for the opportunity to embark on this
new career at Decathlon as a sports advisor with the support from SPD’s Transition to
Employment (TTE) programme. – Mr Sam Subain,

Transforming lives through economic independence

empowered through training
The DAC has given me hope that there is a future for Chantilyn. I see her becoming more independent and
she is happier. I am happy to have her at home every day instead of having to consider institutional help.
I couldn’t move around without the use of walking aids after a total right knee replacement and having an ankle injury. SPD’s physiotherapists and occupational therapists worked patiently with me and that motivated me to work harder. I can now walk independently and am much happier.
We enable adults and the elderly to live as independently as possible in the community
and at home by supporting them with a range of rehabilitative services and assistive technology.
Help make services available to people with disabilities so that they can live at home and be surrounded by their loved ones.

Enable independent living at home
We work towards building a society where persons with disabilities can participate fully in all aspects of community living, from going to school, to working, to going out with friends and family and having fun.
Ensure 2,500 children and youth with special needs from low-income families are not denied a good education.
Place 1,200 persons with disabilities in open employment.
Provide therapy and respite care for 3,300 adults and elderly with disabilities so that they can live at home with their
loved ones.
Raise $2 million to help subsidise the transport fees of people with disabilities.
Boost public education efforts in the community to bridge understanding and
acceptance of people with disabilities.
YOU CAN IMPACT LIVES
Many of the people whom we help are from low-income households. Your donations go towards running
programmes and services that support them, particularly in subsidising their programme fees.
