Features of Integrated Application Lifecycle Management Tools Integrated Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) has developed manifold over the last decade. Majority of vendors aimed at attaining ongoing ALM for quiet sometime. The past two years however has experienced something different with the emergence of new technologies that are developing critical production systems and reaping in the overdue benefits of ALM Integration to read development. Today integrated ALM has become a crucial enterprise tool. Application lifecycle development enterprises undertake heavy investments annually on multiple siloed point function tools that include requirements management, architecture building, coding, testing, tracking, release management and many more. These tools remain in isolation and are dependent mostly on the traditional broken manual procedures for synchronizing data of one tool with the other. Therefore, they do not function properly together. Users may have come across some point-to-point fragile hardwired integration in between tools in case an organization commits to a single service provider for every tool. Integration is not always accessible for an organization to choose the high-end tools from multiple vendors for several lifecycle phases. Today, companies specializing in ALM tools have introduced advanced integrated ALM solutions that provide huge benefits. These advantages are some of essential reasons as to why an enterprise requires integrating multiple lifecycle tools for an optimum single repository application development platform. The benefits include:

Attain useful insights into projects Being able to implement best practice methods Enables in overcoming challenges for a globally distributed development Helps in fostering collaboration between stakeholders Maximizes productivity and leads to quicker delivery Improve customer satisfaction Enhance quality Helps in managing any kind of change with confidence Enables in collecting actionable metrics and intelligence The total team carries on work in its own tool department

When Integrated ALM tools are equipped with appropriate product support and maintenance it can ensure automatic processes across tool boundaries to implement a complete ALM cycle with zero breaks. For instance, any change made by the Helpdesk tool can act as a ticket of getting automatically replicated as Change Request in the Issues/Change Management Tool. It is further approved by a Change Control Board and that makes it reach to the architect for modifying or setting up architectural artifacts in the Modeling/Designing tool. Post this it would move to the developer for coding and then to the QA for setting up Test cases in IDE and Test Management Tools. Therefore, it is essential to have an automated workflow procedure. Generally, the manual interfaces between tools when managed through unformatted documents and emails can often result in loosing outs some essential procedures. Integrated ALM tool also helps organizations to manage projects and resources with ease and simplicity. Related Links - Software Development Life Cycle
