The 3G/WiFi router is a modular device incorporating hardware encryption and also, as this supports IP Telephony and the possibility of video encoding, designed for network convergence. 3G/WiFi router is also both for the local network, with wireless access point as well as for the wide area network, supporting GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, CDMA2000, EV-DO interface cards. The 3G/WiFi router executes the “KR Internetworking Code” which runs in all the KR Series Routers from Advantech Wireless. This is characterized by the enormous variety of supported functionalities and specially aimed at satisfying access needs to data corporate networks. The capacity of the KR of implementing Quality of Service mechanisms (QoS), security mechanisms and the ability to create Virtual Private Networks, together with the wide range of protocols and IP routing functionalities or L2TP make this an outstanding feature. MAIN APPLICATIONS The principal applications are as follows: Backup of landlines : The cellular interfaces offer a backup path, which is completely independent to permanent services, both for access as well as the network. Stand--alone solutions: Automated devices such as Kiosk ATMs or cash dispensers can now be quickly and securely deployed. This additional advantage means nothing requires changing, not the ATM communication interface nor the central system. Machine--to-machine communications (M2M) : Tele -measurement or remote diagnostic systems, generically known as SCADA, converting or adapting the necessary interfaces, benefit enormously from the ubiquity and rates of Cellular services. Temporal/Mobile or urgent deployments and deployments on areas without fixed coverage : The provisioning time of a cellular line is zero.
