Users can enter a maximum of 25 characters

Users can only enter a maximum of 6 tags at any given time. If the amount of tags exceeds the maximum amount, they have to delete a tag. (see ‘ delete tag; slide)

If users enter a tag, they can choose a key term (< 25 CH.) or a relevant web link.

The tool appearance stops the playback.

They choose the relevance on the relevance slide. The relevance setting defines the tag size on screen. (Default 0, colour grey; indicates no relevance setting)

Spontaneous tagging: Pressing the plus sign button enters the timeTag for a minimum duration of two seconds. (one before and one after the time stamp of the tag).

Users can lengthen the timeTag at the time of the tag entry straight away or later (see edit mode). To do so, they simply pull the arrows apart.

Once a user tries to enter a seventh timeTag at any given time in the video, instead of the tool bar, a similar bar appears with an error message. (copy is only a suggestion)

Supported timeTags can not be deleted.

Once one timeTag is deleted, the tag disappears (the information is entered in the ‘tagMotion’ database) and the text input bar appears in the place of the error message bar.

* Once users roll-over a timeTag with the mouse, the tag becomes opaque and little controls appear. The support part of the little control of the top enables uses to ‘strengthen a tag. When a tag is supported it can not be deleted anymore. (see delete tags). Supported tags rise in intensity, a fact that would be visible in the ‘tagMotion’ mode of the player.

‘Author’-User rolls over a timeTag they created

Once a user that created a timeTag rolls-over a timeTag with the mouse, the tag becomes opaque and all controls appear, which appeared when they entered the tag the first time (input bar, greyed out out tag heatmap with timeTag slider, etc). The input box is pre-filled in with the timeTag copy.

A user can now delete the tag (click the bin), change the relevance, or edit the time span. Dragging the time slider to the left (past entry point) also drags the video slider in that position so the use can pin-point the entry point. On release of the time slider the video clip start playing again. Draggin the right slider part makes the video player jump in that position, so the user can estimate the outpoint for the timeTag time span.

Ideally the user can also export this portion (or any portion between timeTags) of the video and add it to their own play list. This way a ‘Heidegger playlist’ could create a remashed version of several Heidegger clips.
