Each school Athletic Trainer has been asked to contact Kim when they see a hockey athlete. Parents can contact Kim directly as well. The condition of athletes who sustain injuries during a game will be communicated to the high school Athletic Trainer to facilitate appropriate medical care. If you have any questions regarding your child’s injuries, please feel free to contact Kim or the high school Athletic Trainer. Their job is to keep athletes participating, and when that isn’t possible, to get them back to play as soon as is safe. Please utilize them.

If you choose to seek medical care without being referred by the Athletic Trainers for the team or high school, Kim and the high school Athletic Trainer need to be informed. Documentation from the provider must be received by either Kim or the high school Athletic Trainer. The paperwork should include the condition for which the athlete was seen, their participation status (i.e., cleared, no-contact, no participation), and any follow-up care required (rehabilitation, concussion return-to-play progression, etc.). Athletes will not be allowed to return to play without written consent from the treating physician.

If you would like to see Dr. Garcia for initial or follow-up care, please contact his office. The front desk number is 920-996-3700. State that the injured athlete is with the Fox Cities Stars and you need an appointment as soon as possible. You can also call Dr. Garcia’s nurse, Anita, at 920-996-3786. Dr. Garcia will facilitate appointments with specialists (orthopedic surgeon) as needed.
