Dear Church Family,
In 2015 we are focused on reigniting our faith, our prayers and vision for our church. I believe God is ready to do a new thing at First Baptist Church! Isaiah 43:19 states, “Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness a river in the desert.” One aspect of this fresh work of God is a new vision to get our entire church moving the same direction through clear vision.
Our vision at First Baptist Church is “Making disciples of Christ that merge faith and daily life.” Or to state our vision in the simplest terms, we are “Merging Faith and Life.” Faith is not a Sunday event. Our spiritual walk should shine the brightest outside of the church walls. We are the church in the CSRA! Real discipleship happens when we merge the truths of God’s Word into our workplace, families, marriages, decision-making, thoughts, finances, home life and every other aspect of daily living.
Our goal as a church is to equip people to merge faith with life. To accomplish this goal, the Bible is clear about the core values needed to fulfill God’s mission. In order to be a people that merge faith and life, we must be:
Rooted – We are a church that roots people in God’s Word. All areas of our life must be driven by the message of the Bible, not the mixed messages of our society.
Reaching – We are a church that shares the good news of Jesus Christ with our local community and the ends of the earth. A healthy church is one that loves, serves and shares the message of Christ with others.
Relational - We are a church of real people loving other people. We should not be known as a large organization with big buildings but as a family. We are everyday people doing life together!
Over the next few months you will see our ministries aligning with this vision. Additionally, we will be re-introducing our church to the CSRA! We want everyone to know we are a church that is here to equip people to merge faith with life!
With great excitement,
Pastor Ryan Pack
