Applicable European standards

Since2002,emergencyexitsystemshavebeenregulatedbytwospecificEuropeanstandards:EN1125forpanicexitdevicesandEN179foremergencyexitdevices.On16December2008theformerstandardEN1125:1997:02wasupdatedtotheNEWEUROPEANSTANDARDonpanicexitdevicesEN1125:2008.Asaresult,since1st January 2010, only the products which have been granted a mark according to the new standard may be marketed.CISA products have already been successfully submitted to all the required tests and on 2ndJanuary2009,therequirednewcertificateswere obtained for all the versions.

MainEN1125:2008standardprescriptions1) A panic exit device must allow opening at any time by anyone (including children, elderly or disabled users, etc.), by applying

minimal pressure with the hands, body or anything else on any point of the horizontal bar.2) Apanicexitdevicemustbeapplicabletopublicpassagedoors(e.g.inshops,offices,hospitals,schoolsetc.)andmusttherefore

be suitable for extremely intense use.3) Apanicexitdevice,ifappliedonafiredoor,mustbeabletoguaranteethat,afterevacuation,thedoorwillcloseagainalsointhe

event of extremely high temperatures.4) A panic exit device must be guaranteed against corrosion.5) In a panic exit device the bar projection must not exceed 150 mm.6) Every panic exit device must carry: the manufacturer's name and trademark, identifying codes, applicable EU standard number

(UNIEN1125),month/yearofenduserinstallationbythemanufacturer.7) There may be two types of panic exit device: with a class A push-bar and with a class B touch-bar.

Version without hold-open mechanism

Byholdingdownthebuttonthestrikerisenergized;thedoorcanonly be opened during the button hold-down time (the striker is released when it receives current input).This version requires microswitch-equipped models to control the door open/closed condition.

Version with hold-open mechanism

By holding down the button the striker is energized and released on receiving the first impulse - enabling door opening. Theelectric striker will become locked again, closing the door (the striker is released when it receives current input).

Version with energized coils

By pressing the button, input to the striker is discontinued and the door can only be opened during the button hold-down time (the striker is released when it does not receive current input).
