Durham Business Improvement District Company (BID) has teamed up with
local retailers to present four days of fashion-fuelled fun including menswear and jewellery
events, late-night shopping with live mannequins, catwalk shows, a thrift fair and much more.
Showcasing many of the city’s independent stores and high-street names, there’s certain to
be something to indulge your passion for fashion.
Fashion InDurham will kick off in style on Wednesday 25th June with the Designer Catwalk Event. Emerging and established designers from across the region will showcase their latest collections. The catwalk show will be followed by the Fashion InDurham Launch Party where you can enjoy music by guest DJ Kenny Dick and pick up a goodie bag at the most glamorous party in town.

@Thursday 26th June sees the return of the popular Woven gents’ evening. The Summer Soirée at the award-winning independent retailer will take place in The Gates Shopping Centre. Starting at 6.30pm, the evening will play host to a variety of entertainment beginning with a drinks reception by Wiff Waff, who will also provide food and ping-pong throughout the evening. DJ Pete Wharrier will supply the evening’s music, and local acoustic singer Zoe Bowman, who recently won Consett’s ‘The Busker Factor’, will also be performing. A live workshop from Wardrobe Wingman will allow guests to purchase bespoke lapel pins on the evening. Local business Flat White Durham will be on hand with freshly baked cake-canapés. The catwalk will showcase the best of Summer trends alongside Woven’s staple garments. If this isn’t enough the evening has exclusive discounts, giveaways, a prize worth £200 for the best-dressed man, plus a limited number of goodie bags worth at least £30!

On Friday 27th June, head to Millennium Place to see the latest jewellery fashion. The evening will start with canapés and a drinks reception provided by Durham City-based catering company Cheese & Pickle. During the night you’ll be able to see live mannequins modelling jewellery from stores such as Pears Boutique, The Mugwump, Cuba Lily and Marla Jones Jewellers. Plus, see the exclusive pre-launch of the new Moon Jewellery store which will be coming to the city in July.
Professional fashion sketches of guests will take place during the evening by Melissa Bailey. There will also be goodie bags and exclusive discounts available on the night.
A cocktail bar will be provided by the Court Inn who will be creating a unique array of jewellery-themed drinks.
Enjoy the ambience provided by acoustic singer, Zoe Bowman.

Fashion-lovers will be able to get a glimpse of the latest trends from a range of stores thanks to the Fashion InDurham Catwalk Shows.On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June, more than 20 retailers including M&S, Topshop, SuperDry, Woven, Sorella and The Mugwump, will be showcasing the latest casual, street and formal wear on offer in the city.There will be three events each day running from 12.30pm until mid-afternoon in the Market Place. With professional models from local modelling agency Boho Models and entrants from the Face of Fashion InDurham competition, it's guaranteed to be a great show.
This is also your chance to see the winner of Face of Fashion InDurham 2014. Elise Taylorson, 16 from Newton Aycliffe beat hopefuls from acrossthe county to win the competition and will be taking part in the catwalk shows in the Market Place on both Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June.

You don’t have to break the bank to cut a dash, and on Sunday 29th June the fashion fun moves to the Gala Theatre.
Shoppers are in for a treat as the first Fashion InDurham Thrift Fair takes over all three floors of the Gala’s studio space, including an array of fashion, beauty and giftware stalls from 12 to 4pm. There’ll be workshops showing you how to upcycle and recycle, stylists showing you how to make the most of charity-shop chic and much more.
Oxfam will be holding a kilo sale where you can buy clothes by weight. Why not treat yourself to a new look and get a thrifty makeover at the beauty bar featuring a range of Durham-based hair and beauty salons including Katusha, Miracles, Rusty’s, Ascend and Marmaris.
