The ability of self-assessment

Name my 3 biggest weaknesses:

Dissatisfied, irresponsible, fanatical

How do you think can I work on my weaknesses to form them into strengths?

Show responsibility and do not always bank on other people

How would you describe working together with me?

You are able to drive and inspire people, you respond to people working with you and may help them to use their skills in the right way.

If you would‘ve to think of one job vacancy that would fit perfectly to me, which one would it be?

Not a specific job vacancy, rather self-employment

- Why?

Because you have a clear idea in your head and know how to achieve it

Where do you think do I see myself in the future?

Preferably surrounded by creative people showing the same passion for their job as you do.

Where do you see me in the future (personally, job related, place wise, etc..) ?

Working in a creative environment, sharing your ideas with people and being successful.

If you could give me one future advice, which one would it be?

Use your skills and creativity not only when you are passionate about so-mething. Try to accept new challenges, even though they might not always satisfy you.

3 X 360 DEGREES INTERVIEWS:In the following part I tried to find out more about myself by asking the people who on the hand are surrounding me every day nowadays or surrounded me

every day when I was younger. People who have a more objective view on my growth process and my personal development over the past few years.

1.NAME / STEPHI

2.NAME / PIET

AGE / 21RELATION / BEST FRIEND SINCE THE BEGINNING OF HIGH SCHOOL

What are my 3 biggest qualities in your opinion?

Dominik is a dreamer, constantly looking for new ideas and being optimistic. Secondly, I have known him for constantly self-reflecting and trying to find the right balance between western-culture rationalism and trusting his intuition. Most importantly Dominik is extremely loyal to his family and close friends, who are, no matter what, his first priority.

What according to you is the biggest difference between my personality and others?

Dominik likes to think outside of the box, no matter if it comes to comparatively simple ideas like a piece of fashion or prefabricated expectations of the so-called western society.

Name my 3 biggest weaknesses:

Being a person that has strong personal conceptions and is constantly looking out for new ways can bring various downsides: First, making quick decisions can cause problems once in a while. Second, disciplining oneself to pull through selfmade plans, especially in rough times, can get quite tough. Third, not being considerate of other people‘s opinions and feelings from time to time.

How do you think can I work on my weaknesses to form them into strengths?

As described, I have known Dominik for being a stongly self-reflecting person. Prethinking decions, self-discipline and empathy are characteristics I have seen Dominik working on.

How would you describe working together with me?

As described, I have known Dominik for being a stongly self-reflecting per-son. Prethinking decions, self-discipline and empathy are characteristics I have seen Dominik working on.

If you would‘ve to think of one job vacancy that would fit perfectly to me, which one would it be?

It would be sharing a company or brand with a large group of people coming from different cultures and professions.

- Why?

I see Dominik as a person with stong personal visions, especially concerning fashion, while being interested in various topics of the fine, performing and industrial arts. Co-owning a company or brand would give him the freedom to create his own products while sourrounding himself with and taking res-pnsibility for a creative team.

Where do you think do I see myself in the future?

Having achieved current dreams and constantly chasing new ones. As for current dreams, Dominik will run his own business creating fashion inspired by humans and planet earth.

Where do you see me in the future (personally, job related, place wise, etc..) ?

In the future I see Dominik working and living in a place combining the upsides of both, urbanism and nature. He will surround himself with people sharing his taste and values, while being able to physically experience nature.

If you could give me one future advice, which one would it be?

At the end the person as a human counts. It all comes down to who we were not what we achieved. Do everything to live up to the values you consider important and to become the human you want to be.

When did you start your brand back in the days?

I started in 2011, while still working as a Designer for Tommy Hilfiger I started creating my first collection of denims.

What aim did u had in your mind while setting up that business?

Surrounded by my closest friends, such as Gillaume from Filling Pieces and the Guys from Daily Paper I was always driven inside to set up my own business, I wanted to reach the same as them and always dreamed of having my own fashi-on brand based on my own aesthetic.

In what way do you reach that aim at the moment?

I opened my first store in December, 2015 within the 9 streets in the heart of Amsterdam‘s canals. Since then we are able as a brand to acquire a lot of new customers and are finally able to present the quality of our garments in a physi-cal way.

How fast is your business growing?

Since I dropped the first full collection in summer 2015 we are constantly gro-wing very fast. Of course we have to fight our every day struggles as a young brand, such as production delays and organization, but we are on a very good way at the moment.

Is it possible to stay true to your aesthetics while growing that fast?

Over the years my own aesthetic developed a lot from a very rough denim idea to a more modern and technical chic with athletic details. For the reason that we are in the first place known as a branding brand, we are always able to offer our customers a lot of articles with the branding they are searching for. But on the other hand we are always able to include a couple of items in each collection which represent our aesthetic totally.

JOB INTERVIEW:To interview a person which already works in fashion on a professional basis

can help to get a broader view on the things that happen in real life compared to the content that is taught in school theoretically.

Interview with / Mr. Olaf HusseinAge / 30

Position / Creative Director and Founder of ‚Olaf Hussein‘

Page 11: Fashion and Identity Report - WordPress.com AND IDENTITY REPORT by dominik rodemann INDEX Personal Part Quality Game 3 3 x 360 degrees interview 4 - 6 core quadrants 7 Professional

In what way did you had to develop your values to stay competitive?

In the beginning I tried to stay 100% true to my own aesthetic in every design but over the last seasons I realized that a brand is just as good as its customer base, wherefore I developed myself to think a lot more commercial for recent and upco-ming designs.

In what way did you change your design and aesthetic over the past collections?

As I already said before, we changed a lot from a denim based brand to a very modern and chic but still casual and athletic aesthetic. Combining high quality and functional garments with progressive fashion and innovative branding ideas is our main goal.

Over the past seasons, is it more important to be ‚a clever business guy‘ or a ‚crea-tive mastermind‘ to set up an own fashion brand which is able to survive?

I would say a mix of both is the most important. While still in the early days of running my own business I realize for how many different parts you have to be prepared while just having a few employes. Fashion is not just about aesthetic and nice design its a business and takes a lot of effort and first of all organization skills.

Whats your future goal and how do you think you can reach it?

My future goal is to invent a new era of chic, and every day uniform which people can wear while working the whole day outside or in an office, which people can wear for just drinking coffee or having a business dinner.

NO.03 + NO.04

open vacancies without description / PIGALLE Paris + Slam Jam Italy

Personal Explanation: As I already explained before it is way more important for me to search for a brand or institution I can identify with than searching for a specific job description.

Pigalle Paris and Slam Jam Italy are both more than just singe brands.

Pigalle is a creative concept based in Paris combing high end ready to wear with streetwear collabs with nike and social projects such as a high level playing basket-ball team (Not mentioning they also run a Nightclub and a Hotel in the same aesthetic in their district in Paris).

Slam Jam is one of the most well known outer- and streetwear distributions in Europe. Carrying the ‚REAL‘ brands since day one, they stand for skate and sports-wear culture while never loosing the fashion twist ( In addition they run several stores within Italy, for example in Milan).

To be able to work for brands like this would help me defining my own path even more and build my skills to a certain level from which on I can try to hopefully set up my own business in the future.

Combining a real story and a personal aesthetic with a still well doing business would definitely be one of my biggest future goals.

Page 15: Fashion and Identity Report - WordPress.com AND IDENTITY REPORT by dominik rodemann INDEX Personal Part Quality Game 3 3 x 360 degrees interview 4 - 6 core quadrants 7 Professional

SWOT ANALYSIS:Within the Swot analysis I try to point out my personal strengths and weaknesses still considering external threads and opportunities which mainly influence my

development and individual growth.

STRENGTHS

Through the past years and several talks/interviews with people who surround me on a daily basis, I figured out that I have a specific idea of what I want and the motivation to realize that idea with the highest ambitions. I can communicate well and create innovative ideas with creative backgrounds. In addition I am a positive minded person who is able to work together with others.

WEAKNESSES

My organization skills are always mentioned as one of my biggest weaknesses, I am nearly never on time and it is very hard for people to rely on me or giveme a lot of responsibilities within a group work. Personally I think I am very often to narrow minded when it comes to create something out of my comfort zone,I get easily dissatisfied and don’t show the same enthusiasm as at the beginning of a project.

OPPORTUNITIES

While still studying at AMFI and besides that working for menswear designer Olaf Hussein, I have the possibility to gain the perfect mixture of experience and theoretical knowledge to be perfectly prepared for the creative world later on.

THREADS

Combining school and work on an as intensive level as I do it at the moment can cause a lack of quality in the outcome of my work, weather it is regarding school or work. I am in a danger to loose the focus every now and then by growing tasks at one of the institutions and miss out of the possibility to show my best at both places at the same time.

3 SMART GOALS:I set myself 3 SMART Goals, which are all reachable within the next year, but should nevertheless teach me a certain way of handling future goals and approa-

ching new skills of working in time.

SPECIFIC improving my organization skills

MEASURABLE at least 90% of every weeks requirements are fully prepared or finished

ACHIEVABLE from now on I plan my weeks before hand and try to measure all circumstances correctly and realistic, that I can perfectly see which time gaps I can use to fulfill my expectations. REALISTIC If I set this goal for the last period of the first year of AMFI now I think it is realistic, from that moment on I have to try to keep it that way and develop myself to a more organized person, while noticing within the next months that it is way easier and much more efficient to work organized.

TIME July 1st , (circa) end of AMFI first year

Page 17: Fashion and Identity Report - WordPress.com AND IDENTITY REPORT by dominik rodemann INDEX Personal Part Quality Game 3 3 x 360 degrees interview 4 - 6 core quadrants 7 Professional

NO. 02

SPECIFIC improve my working motivation for assignments I don’t like or agree with

MEASURABLE Im going to use at least 80% of my motivation to make the best out of tasks that don’t suit me or ones I cant relate to

ACHIEVABLE If I realize that I sometimes don’t work for the present but mostly develop myself for the future with every single task weather I like it or not, I can manage to motivate myself to reach that level of motivation

REALISTIC If I am able to reach a minimum of 60% of my motivation level with every assignment I don’t like I can grow from that point and see the success in the end as an additional motivational factor to reach a minimum of 80% in the end.

TIME July 1st , (circa) end of AMFI first year

Page 18: Fashion and Identity Report - WordPress.com AND IDENTITY REPORT by dominik rodemann INDEX Personal Part Quality Game 3 3 x 360 degrees interview 4 - 6 core quadrants 7 Professional

NO.03

SPECIFIC Finishing AMFI first year

MEASURABLE 100% of all reachable points need to be reached

ACHIEVABLE If I internalize the other 2 SMART goals and am able to work more organized and create a higher motivation level especially for things I can not relate to naturally, I will be able to reach that goal. REALISTIC If I can manage to attend to all classes from now on and always attend fully prepared I am able to reach that goal, even If I would’ve to go into a resit once, I will definitely be able to finish and pass it in the end.
