Welcome to Hull Training and Adult EducationFamily Learning Programmes

Hull Training and Adult Education Family Learning is committed to offering you and your family the opportunity to support your children on a variety of programmes which are informal, practical and friendly.

On Family Learning courses we make sure that learning with your family is not only informative, but fun for all involved. Learning through play is important to children of all ages and this idea is promoted by our team.

Families in Hull have many different interests and we aim to provide a wide range of courses to suit your needs, from workshops of 2 hours to more intensive 60 hour programmes.

Our most popular programmes are linked to the learning that children do in school. They will be of interest to you if you want to know more about how to help and support your child’s learning, particularly in English and Maths.

You are given the chance to become more involved in your children’s school life, so that you are better informed about how to support them in their learning. During some family programmes you are able to work together with your children, finding out about how they learn, whilst working along side and supporting them in school.

Family Learning also gives you the opportunity to develop your own skills through a wide range of learning experiences, including being able to achieve a nationally recognised qualification in English and Maths on our longer programmes; courses are available to all adult members of the family who care for children.

Courses take place in local community venues, such as schools, children’s centres, community centres and adult education centres.

Many of our programmes are free of charge, with free childcare provision*, so parents/carers with children under 5 can join in whilst your children are cared for.

Information, Advice and Guidance Services

There are opportunities for you to receive information about further learning and training. Information, Advice and Guidance is provided to all adult learners on our programmes, to help you to make choices about what you want to do next, or to help you make the right choices to reach your aims and goals.

So whatever kind of course you are looking for, why not think about a Family Learning course?

Bring fun and learning to life for your family!

*Conditions apply –minimum of five children required for a free crèche to be provided.
