Essentials of Excel 2013 Microsoft Excel is a program used to present data in a spreadsheet or a table of rows and

columns. Data can then be sorted, organized, and manipulated mathematically using

various operations and formulas. This introductory course will teach you basic data

editing, performing calculations with formulas, managing workbooks, creating charts, and

many other marketable skills using the automated tools found within Excel. Prerequisites: Basic

Microsoft Office Specialist Prepare for your Certified Microsoft Office Specialist Exam! Our expert instructor will guide you

through the necessary information to prepare you to earn your MOS certification. This course

includes Microsoft Word 2013 (document formatting, editing skills, and various ways to

Massage Therapy Program The massage therapy program will provide students with the knowledge and skills of massage,

incorporating anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and other topics. Completion of the program will

provide the required information and skills to sit for the state exam required by the Texas Department

of Licensing and Regulation. The program will be taught through a combination of lectures,

demonstrations, and clinical experiences. Textbooks(s) are required.

The program currently contains the following courses:

Hydrotherapy and Therapeutic Modalities

Health and Hygiene

Any student who is planning to become a Massage Therapist in the State of Texas must successfully

complete all of the listed courses that are required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation

in order to sit for the licensure exam (MBLEx). Not all courses will be offered each semester.

Requirements for enrolling in the Massage Therapy program courses:

Must be 18 years of age

Must have a high school diploma or HSE/GED®

Must pass a criminal background check

Must attend a Massage Therapy Information Session (within the last 12 months)

Must prepare to complete immunization and CPR requirements before beginning Fundamentals II

Before beginning Fundamentals II of the Massage Therapy program, the following items must be

completed and submitted to the CE Healthcare Coordinator for review.

Completed Immunization Requirement Form (copies of immunization documentation must be

submitted)

Copy of CPR Card (not to expire before end date of your internship course)

o American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

o CPR certification obtained from online CPR training vendors without an in-person

“hands-only” training portion will not be accepted

FREE Massage Therapy Information Session Students interested in becoming a Massage Therapist in the State of Texas are required

to attend an Information Session before enrolling. This free Information Session

reviews different aspects of the training program, including cost, description of each

course, and requirements of attendance as well as requirements of the state guidelines to be

licensed and maintain licensure as a massage therapist in Texas. Information Sessions are held

monthly.

Massage Therapy: Anatomy and Physiology This course provides in-depth coverage of the structure and function of the human body.

It includes cell structure and function, tissues, body organization, and the integumentary,

skeletal, muscular, nervous, and endocrine systems. Students will learn the relationship

of the structure of the body to the practice of massage therapy and explain the effects of

massage therapy on the physiological functions of the body. This class meets the minimum 75-

contact-hour requirement for Anatomy and Physiology for licensure. This class is one of nine

required courses needed to obtain a Massage Therapy Certification in Texas.

universal precautions and their management in professional practice and meets the minimum

Basic Life Support (CPR) This course is a two year certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) and does not include

First Aid. Refunds can only be provided if you cancel enrollment by calling 979-230-

3600 and speaking to a registration specialist prior to the enrollment deadline. The

American Heart Association (AHA) strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA

courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an

educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for

Ophthalmic Assistant This program prepares students for entry level positions in Ophthalmology. Through

classroom lecture and labs, this program includes: anatomy and physiology of the eye,

general principles of pharmacology, prescriptions written for the eye, visual acuity, and

tonometry (basic) and glaucoma. This course includes a review of ocular dressing

procedures, maintenance of equipment and instruments and other areas. No pre-requisites are

required. Textbooks are included. This course is offered through a partnership with Condensed

Curriculum International (CCI).

Veterinary Assistant Program This program introduces students to the exciting, growing field of veterinary medicine.

Students will learn about the care of animals as well as how to recognize signs of illness

High School Equivalency (HSE) Test Prep courses are free to Texas residents. You must be at

least 19 years of age to register. 16 year olds may enroll with a signed court order. 17 and 18

year olds may enroll with a withdrawal form from the last school attended. A parent or guardian

must accompany the student at registration to sign the permission form.

Texas Stream Team Training Join a network of over 400 volunteers state-wide! Volunteers will be trained in water quality

sampling techniques. After successful completion of this course you will be assigned one of the

water bodies of interest in the Brazoria County area such as Oyster Creek, Bastrop Bayou,

Chocolate Bayou, the Brazos River, and more. Monitors will collect and report water

Fencing En Garde! Join the beginner fencing class and learn basic fencing skills, attack and

defense techniques, and move on to full speed bouting with electronic scoring. A fencing

uniform will eventually be required, but the instructor has club equipment to loan

initially, until you are sure you actually like the sport. Wear shorts, t-shirt, knee high athletic
