TLC - The Learning Center
The Learning Center (TLC) will continue to provide tutoring support for COC students via remote delivery options using Zoom.

The Library
To help students adjust to fully remote coursework, COC's Library is offering live reference assistance via Zoom Monday-Thursday 9am-7pm, and Friday 9am-1pm, in addition to its Ask-a-Librarian chat reference service Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm. Counseling
Are you prepared and ready for Fall registration? If you have any questions about coursework necessary to meet your Certificate, AA/AS, AA-T/AS-T and/or transfer re-quirements, stop by Express Drop-in Counseling. We have counselors available on a drop-in basis to assist you.
Express Drop-In Counseling - This is a short 5 -10 minute session with a counselor de-signed to support students on a first come, first serve basis to address quick questions such as: summer registration, adding or dropping classes, grading options, filing a
graduation petition, checking progress towards your associate degree or certificate program. Are you concerned about your Spring 2020 grades? Moving from the face to face learning environment to the re-mote/online learning environment has definitely been a transition for many. If you struggled with coursework in spring and did not pass your courses, connect with a counselor during Express Drop-In and we can discuss your op-tions with you. You may be able to petition for an “Excused Withdrawal” or request a “Withdrawal – Removal.”
Will you be attending CSUN in Fall 2020? If so, be sure to check out the "Balanced Man Scholarship", awarding up to $1,000! This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen, transfers, and current students! The deadline is August 30th, apply online: https://csunsigep.com/scholarships/
Are you a Pre-Nursing Major? If so, be sure to visit the Counseling website to sign up for our Pre-Nursing Advise-ment Workshop. This workshop will provide you with an overview of which classes to take in order to prepare for the Associate Degree of Nursing program as well as pre-licensure BSN or RN-BSN programs. It will also go into detail about how to make yourself as competitive as possible, take advantage of volunteer or internship opportunities, TEAS study guide information, and your grades. Are you interested in becoming a Lawyer? If so, consider joining the Pathway to Law School Program. Pathway to Law School is a California Community College Initiative in partnership with nine California law schools to increase diversity in the legal profession. The purpose of the Program is to provide a pathway to a law school educa-tion for students whose post-secondary education begins at the community college level. Science Center Update
The Science Center construction continues, with progress on the East end of the building, both interior and exterior, and in the adjacent amphithea-ter. In addition, the first stages of the Student Services/Learning Resources Center have begun, with heavy equipment moving earth and working on the footprint for this new building that will eventually house the majority of all student support services, in addition to a new library and TLC. It’s exciting times!

Fall Registration is here!
Registration times for Fall will be assigned to students on July 1st. Reg-istration into classes does not begin until mid July.
IMPORTANT: On the class schedule, for each class, you should see a link to the instructor’s Orientation Letter. Please use that letter as ref-erence as to how and in what capacity that class will be taught and where to check in.
If you waitlist for a class, you may need to email the instructor on the first day of class to request an Add Code number to add the class.

Veteran’s Resource Center (VRC)
The Veterans Resource Center continues in a remote platform while we all wait for a solution to the Covid-19 virus. During this time, the VRC is committed to assisting our Veteran and Veteran Dependent popula-tion through an online platform. We offer the same in-person services through Zoom and Canvas. Our remote VRC Zoom hours are:
Monday - Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Thursday: 9:00am - 11am and 12:00pm - 5pm.
Note the remote VRC will be closed from 11:00am -12:00pm on Thursdays for an office meeting.
