6 Retraction/Extension: Inspect springtension by pulling lanyard out fully andallowing to retract fully (lifeline must betaut with no slack).

7 Hooks/Carabineers: Inspect forphysical damage, corrosion, properorientation and markings.

8 Labels: Inspect, making certain alllabels are securely held in place andare legible.
