YOUTH PROGRAMSAll AgesHome school Open House and Curriculum Swap Hopewell Library

Tuesday, September 9th at 2:00 p.m.

Home school families are encouraged to visit the library for books, resources, and a quiet space to study and learn. The library is currently working to expand its program offerings for home school families, and we need your help! Join us for an open house to learn about the library’s services and collections and how they can benefit you and your family. There will fun activities and an opportunity to meet the Youth Services Manager and staff and ask questions. Bring your gently used curriculum materials to swap with other families for something new! Also, please bring ideas or requests you have to share for future programming. Your input will help the staff plan new and exciting events for homeschoolers.

Story time programs aim to instill a love of reading by encouraging parents and other special adults to read aloud to children. Activities in story time promote brain and language development for children from birth to age 5. At story time, children and caregivers are introduced to six early literacy skills that are essential for learning to read including print motivation, narrative skills, phonological awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge, and print awareness.
