Hello, and thank you for your interest in Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps! I fell in love with handmade soap many years ago. However, it was difficult to find locally and, more often than not, I was disappointed in the quality of the soap as well as the fragrances. Frustrated, I decided to make my own soap. I developed a creamy, luxurious goat’s milk soap. From there I located intoxicating fragrances (the “keepers” are few and far between!). I should have been satisfied with luxurious bars of handmade soap with rich, creamy lather and incredible fragrances, but that still wasn’t enough. Having always had a bit of an artisanal flair, I wanted to elevate the visual interest of each bar. You have a lot of soap choices. Read the labels. If you think handmade soap may be right for you, give my soap a try. You could spend a lot more money on handmade soap, but why should you? Spending more will not buy you a better bar of soap than Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps. CUSTOMIZATION: Just so you know, I LOVE special order and customization requests! I can customize something for you, or put together any kind of Sumptuous Soap gift(s). If you tell me how much you’d like to spend on a gift package, I will make some suggestions for you. Full-Sized Bar Soaps

“Glycerine Soap” “Glycerine Soap” (with an optional lovely French vintage soap label, if desired). When people talk

about “glycerine soap,” they are usually referring to a transparent soap. All handmade soap contains glycerine. “Glycerine soap” goes through a hot

process which keeps the soap crystals from becoming opaque. Without this crystallization, the

soap remains clear. You may wonder which is better for you: My goat’s milk soap or glycerine

soap. Much of it depends on personal preference. They are both good for all skin types. Glycerine

soap produces even more lather than my goat’s milk soap, and would be good for shaving. Goat’s milk soap has a PH level similar to our skin, which helps

protect the skin from invading bacteria and chemicals we come in contact with every day. People who suffer from skin allergies, eczema,

psoriasis and dry skin are frequent users of goat’s milk soap. Available in all 40+ fragrances.

My Sumptuous Solid Perfume is formulated in a base of natural beeswax and jojoba oil, with your choice of fragrance (any fragrance from my line). It is hand poured perfume that

glides onto your skin and disperses the fragrance notes beautifully. Apply it on pulse points behind your ears, on your wrists, neck and décolletage, and delight in its diffused

scent. Take these portable solid perfume pots with you to refresh your fragrance anytime! The screw on cap will prevent leaking. Jojoba is a more expensive oil than many others you will find in solid perfumes. Using jojoba as the oil, this solid perfume does not leave a pud-dle of oil on your skin. FRAGRANCES

Almond & Oatmeal – A delicious, rich almond fragrance with a mild cherry top note (reminiscent of Jergen's original scent lotion), with ground oats to naturally soothe and exfoliate.

Aloe Vera – This soothing scent is clean and green with a hint of a chill.

Ancient Sedona – This fragrance is an Oriental Floral Amber. This sensual, deep scent was named for the fa-mous city in Arizona, invoking days of old and a deeper, richer experience. It opens with green notes of Man-darin Leaf and Orange Blossom. Heart is heady night Floral, Bulgarian Rose and Vetiver. Dry down has sensual notes of Sandalwood, Bourbon Vanilla, Amber, Labdanum and Tonka Bean.

Apple Blossom – One whiff of this and you’ll know why the apple blossom is reputed to be one of the most aromatic flowers. This is a delightfully fresh and clean scent reminiscent of spring – even in the coldest of win-ters.

Applejack Peel – Reminiscent of the popular Claire Burke fragrance. Hot and spicy top notes of Cinnamon and Cloves rounding down to a mellow scent of red apples.

Black Canyon – A deep musk with light floral notes and a touch of sandalwood and patchouli. Men and wom-en alike enjoy this fragrance.

Blueberry – Not a syrupy scent, but a delightfully true blueberry fragrance.

Carnation – Carnation fragranced soap seems to be a distant memory, perhaps because a good carnation fra-grance seems impossible to find. I have created my own blend, which I believe hits the mark. This soap is delicately fragranced with the spicy clove-like aroma of heritage carnations of days gone by.

Chamomile – A wonderful fragrance for relaxation! The calming, hypnotic scent of the chamomile flower will instantly melt your tensions away.

Citrus Bliss – A blast of citrus and a surprise twist make this a refreshing Citrus Bliss! This is my own blend, and personally I think it's rather addictive.

Cold Water – This crisp scent is a great men’s fragrance, surprisingly also adored by women. It’s like navi-gating a kayak through icy waters – brisk and fresh, but casual enough not to overwhelm the senses. It has top notes of citrus, black current and pineapple, middle notes of honeydew, muguet and water lily, and base notes of vetiver, amber and mulberry.

Crisp Anjou Pear – This pear fragrance is designed after the crisp, green Anjou Pear. It’s sweet and fresh at the same time.

Dragon’s Blood – A soft Oriental blend of Patchouli and Rose on a warm sweet Musk base.

Drakkar – A fabulous men’s fragrance with interesting notes of spicy berries, citrus, Lavender and Amber.

English Rose – Just like an English rose garden! A lighter fragrance; not as deep as other roses.

Fern – A fresh green scent with mossy overtones and a touch of wood. Think of the cool lushness of the for-est floor, with dew on the ferns.

Green Apple – Wonderfully well-rounded Green Apple scent, mouth-watering and true. Not too tart, not too sweet.

Heather & Hyacinth – This beautiful scent smells like a stroll through the loveliest of proper English gardens. It’s more Hyacinth than Heather. An unpretentious scent, it smells like a brisk, unisex scent.

Herbal Essence – Duplication of the original Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo scent. Mildly sweet and full of floral and fruit notes.

Island Coconut – One whiff and you’ll be thinking, sun, sun, sun!

Jovan Musk – The most divine Musk imaginable - sweet, rich and sexy. Every bit as enticing as it was way back when!

Lavender Bouquet – A wonderfully mild bouquet of Lavender with hints of Lilac, Carnation and Baby’s Breath.

Lemongrass – Revitalize your mind and body with the refreshing, invigorating and exhilarating scent of lemongrass. It has an energetic lemon scent with an earthy note. Lemongrass is a popular and stimulating skin ingredient for oily, mature or inflamed skin. It can help clear up oily skin and works well as a skin toner because it naturally dilates the blood vessels, tightening pores and wrinkles. Additionally, it can treat such problems as skin rashes, excessive sweating, athlete’s foot and stress.

Lilac – A good Lilac can be elusive. This one’s the real deal.

Nag Champa – Delightfully soft and memorable. Renowned for its earthy scent of Juniper, Patchouli and Va-nilla. Rose Geranium and Jasmine are also present to give the blend a sweet note.

Neroli – Neroli oil is extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree...But don't think orange. This is an absolutely incredible fragrance blend! It contains some Neroli essential oil and is strengthened with notes of Cinnamon, Dill Weed, Eucalyptus and Orange fragrance. The scent is perfected with the addition of some Dill Weed.

Oatmeal, Milk & Honey – A long time favorite of many! Mildly sweet and toasty and smells so rich, it’s intoxicating!

Orange Blossom – Orange tree blossoms are enticingly aromatic, and this is an incredible replication. A very sensual and wonderfully intoxicating white flower scent. This one is destined to be a long-time favorite!

Patchouli – Here at last, for all you patchouli enthusiasts. Musky, smoky and deep.

Peppermint – This essential oil is a stimulating mint with a candy cane smell. Portion of oil removed, render-ing a higher menthol content.

Pikake – Soft spices blended with white florals. Tropical and fresh. Heavenly!

Piña Colada – A delicious, creamy blend of sweet pineapple juice, Malibu rum and coconut. Close your eyes and you can practically taste it!

Rice Flower & Shea – A soft, delicate scent based on the popular Bath & Body Works favorite. It has a base note of a sweet and warm musk with floral top notes of Jasmine and Lilac. Utterly soul-soothing.

Secret Garden – Fresh green smelling, slightly spicy fragrance with notes of Violet, Jasmine, Bitter Orange, Lemon and a hint of Musk.

Sensuous Sandalwood – An incredibly alluring sandalwood – woody, lush and sensual. A great fragrance for men and women alike.

Spearmint Eucalyptus – Absolutely delectable! Invigorating Eucalyptus and garden Spearmint are brought together by Lavender, Citrus, and a touch of Calendula for a very energizing ~ but still mild ~ fragrance.

Spicy Lime – Crisp Peruvian Lime essential oil is rounded out with notes of Indonesian Clove, Ginger Oil from India, and Nutmeg. A very traditional masculine blend with a fresh, modern edge.

Spring Rain – A light, fresh floral with a hint of spice. A relaxing spa-type fragrance. Awesome!

Stud Muffin – Stud Muffin fragrance begins with fresh, daring notes of Japanese grapefruit, bergamot, and lemon; followed by middle notes of peppercorn, ginger, jasmine, aquatic marine notes, and a hint of pepper-mint; sitting on expensive base notes of natural patchouli, cedar, vetiver, labdanum, and frankincense. Guys, step forward and claim your new soap!

Sunflower – The scent of golden sunflowers – bright, sunny and soft.

Sweet Clover – This fragrance is a delightful treat for the nose! It's a delicious blend of freshly cut grass and sweet clover. Quite captivating!

Sweetgrass – This is a bright, green scent that is a compliment to the bright scents of summer. It is a great unisex fragrance. Absolutely scrumptious!

Tangerine – Bright, fruity, and sweet, Tangerine essential oil reminds us of happy summer days eating orange popsicles. Many claim that Tangerine oil promotes tranquility and helps calm hyperactive children. It may also help reduce stretch marks during pregnancy and act as an antiseptic toner for oily skin. However it helps you, it smells yummy!

White Tea & Ginger – This fragrance has a delightfully warm and comforting smell. With top notes of Berga-mot, Lemon Peels and Green Daylilies, this fragrance is brought back to its roots with a base of Ginger, Nut-meg and Warm Musk. White floral notes, such as Hyacinth, Freesia and Peony complete the mix. This fra-grance is unique in many ways and it is difficult to pick out individual notes when you smell the soothing blend.

Wild Mountain Honey – This is an absolutely delectable honey fragrance with an accompanying soft bouquet of wild flowers. Delicious!

The first and primary ingredient in my Sumptuous Soaps and other products: LOVE! They are totally free of:

Parabens, such as Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, and Propylparaben.

Sulfates, such as Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES).

Phthalates, such as Dinbutylphthlate (DPB), Diethylphthalate (DEP), Dimethylphthalate (DMP), and Benzylbutylphthalate (BzBP).

Petroleum derivatives, such as Propylene Glycol (PG, which

is the active component in antifreeze), Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Ethylene Glycol (EG), and mineral oil.

Ammonia derivatives, such as Diethanolamine (DEA),

Triethanolamine (TEA) and Monoethanolamine (MEA).

Formaldehyde releasing ingredients, such as Imidazolidinyl Urea and DMDM Hydantoin.

My Crème de la Crème Hand and Face Cream has purified water in it, so it is absolutely necessary to use a preservative. I use Optiphen Plus, which is paraben-free, a non-formaldehyde donor, and non-isothiazolinone. It contains Phenoxyethanol (an aromatic ether alcohol), Caprylyl Glycol (an emollient base), and Sorbic Acid (a natural acid that offers protection from yeast, fungus and mold). Reading labels isn’t just for food. Read your soap and cosmetic labels. For instance, many if not all of Bath and Body Works products contain ingredients that are skin or eye irritants, but some ingre-dients can also cause more serious problems. Benzyl alcohol is a common ingredient that is also a neurotoxin which can cause allergic reactions, liver damage, coma and death in animals. Dimethi-cone is derived from petroleum and a known environmental contaminant. Disodium EDTA is a neu-rotoxin made from formaldehyde. It has been associated with brain damage, liver changes, endo-crine damage, fetal damage and birth abnormalities in animals. And finally, methylparaben is an en-docrine disruptor that has been linked to breast and ovarian cancer and is also an environmental contaminant. Johnson’s Baby Oil is 100% mineral oil, a petroleum derivative. A report on carcinogens states that untreated and mildly treated mineral oils are known to be human carcinogens. A study on mice showed that the more refined the oil, the less carcinogenic it was. Another concern with mineral oil is the fact that it coats the skin like a plastic wrapping, inhibiting its ability to breathe. Cosmetic grade mineral oil is most likely not going to cause you to suffer from cancer. If “most likely” is good enough for you, maybe you don’t need to worry about it. If, on the other hand, you don’t want to take the risk, and would prefer to use natural alternatives that not only soften your skin, but nourish it, look to ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil and coconut oil. You will find these ingredients on my shelf and in my products.

All of Susan's Sumptuous Soaps and other products are lovingly made in Lake Hattie Township in northern Minnesota with ingredients you and your skin will love. All of my products are labeled with their ingredients. All products on my website, with the excep-tion of my soaps, have the ingredients in their descriptions, with the exception of my soaps. My Sumptuous Soaps contain the following: Coconut oil, palm oil, safflower oil, glycerine, goat's milk, purified water, sodium hydroxide, sorbitol, sorbitan oleate, soybean protein, and wheat protein. Colorants vary by soap. Some have no added colorants; some have natural colorants; and some have cosmetic-grade colorants. Special order soap is available without any coloring (at no extra charge, of course). Fragrances consist of a proprietary blend of essential and/or fragrance oils. Special order soap is available without fragrance (at no extra charge). If you want to use only essential oils, please let me know. Some soaps have exfoliating agents and other additives such as Vitamin E oil, honey, oats, corn-meal, poppy seeds, cinnamon and other herbs. Rhassoul Clay and French Pink Clay are available as soap additives. Ingredients in my Fizzing Bath Powder include baking soda, citric acid, corn starch, Epsom salts, sweet almond oil and/or grapeseed oil, liquid glycerine, borax, fragrance and/or essential oils, and cosmetic-grade colorants. Did you know that each one of your skin cells has a life span of two to four weeks? At the begin-ning of the cycle, it starts out as a bright, healthy cell. Each skin cell originates at the base of your skin layers and moves toward the surface. By the cell’s final days, it is scaly, dehydrated, tough and colorless. Your skin works hard to naturally shed these cells daily, but as we age, it becomes more difficult for our skin to get rid of dead cells.
