Faith in Humanity
in March 2011you will have to
complete aCensus form
Question 20 asks'What is your
religion?' Please tell it
as it is!
WHY?because
it matters
Most people in Britain do not hold
religious beliefs, but if you say in the
Census that you are Christian or of some other faith(because
that was how you were brought up) the Government will use
this to justify such things as:
© Daniel MarsulaPittsburg Post-Gazette
the state-funding of faith schools…
compulsory acts of worship inschool assemblies …
increased religious broadcasting at the BBC …
© Collage by Alan Beck
the continuing presence of Bishops in the House of
Lords promoting their own interests …
the exclusion of Humanist voices in Parliament and
elsewhere
BHA President Polly Toynbee not allowed to appear on Radio 4’s Thought for the Day.
So, if you don’t
believe in Him…
… or him
… or him… or him
put your markwhere it counts!
the question is voluntary,
but when you fill in the Census please
answer it and if you’re not religious
for goodnesssake say
so!
